I have to RE-PURCHASE The Game!

I was about to get my bust on, but when I put the disc into my PS3, nothing happened! So I checkd the disc, and noticed a thin crack from the center (where the hole is). Up until now I have had zero problems with it playing, but I noticed that, the crack is just up to where the bar code is located, and now my PS3 can't/won't read it! The only thing that sucks is, I noticed that it already had a very small crack (which A LOT of the games I've purchased over the years have had, when new), but I didn't think it would get as bad as it is. I have only played the game like 3-4 times since I've had it, and I'm wondering if I could take it back to GS for an exchange? cause' I'm not too keen on the idea of having to drop another $60 on it, nor can I afford to. Nyone else had any probs like this? :angryvigo: :sigh:

EDIT: I found the reciept, and it says I can exchange it within 30 days. Phew!

I'm hoping they exchange it for you, but they might say you're the one that broke it.

I really hope they do though man cause that sucks.

Its pretty uncommon for new games to have those sorts of cracks. It's not unheard of, but if you've had a bunch of new games with cracks in them, you may want to check them before they go into the system and check them again when they come out.

Also, and I'm saying this only because I personally have dealt with this a lot, you may need to be a titch more careful when you take the game out of the case. Again, no offense intended, but it is quite common for cracks to form in disks when you try and pry them out of the case the first time.

Goddess, you work at Gamestop, what do you think are the chances they'll exchange his copy?

No offense taken, but I did notice a very slight crack, before I took it out of the case (when it was brand new), but it was soo small I didn't think anything of it at the time, and sad part is, I've only played it like 3-4 times, so I'm wondering if the force of the disc spinning could have made it worse? As far as being careful? I have PS1 games that I've played over and over again for years that still look brand new, so I don't believe the crack was any fault of mine. But wish me luck.(*peter)

I did notice btw that, Blu-Ray discs are extremely thin, compared to a DVD/CD, or maybe it's just me.

all your games have cracks? No offense, but do you handle them correctly?

RE: RockStar

I've heard that Blu-Ray discs, while thin, are several times more durable than regular CDs/DVDs.

Unless whoever's working at your store is a total so-and-so then yeah, you have 30 days to return a game as defective so no worries there. It's not a great idea to put a cracked disk into a system, because if the crack is severe enough it can sort of explode in the system so to speak. I've seen a couple of PS2's that have had this happen and it's tragic.

You should have no problem returning it. I buy games play them and if they suck I return them for a full refund. It depends on what gamestop u go to. I'm also a loyal customer so they know me and let me do that but u should have no problem.

I went today, and they did let me exchange it. The guy was really cool about it too. (*peter)
