Why would Evolution get a budget of 80 million and GB3 will not be made for 100-120 million. With a name like ghostbusters it should automatically be a big budget film. Evolution should never have had that big of a budget when GB3 will not get the green light because sony thought it was too expensive.

I agree, that is something that I fail to understand. Even MIBII. It was a decent movie, but I think the Ghostbusters franchise could of done better.

I don't understand it either. Something must have changed their minds. Evolution wasn't a sequel. Maybe that had something to do with it. And MIB2, I have no idea. I guess they figured it was worth a shot, but I don't think that script was worth the money. Now they really should get GB3 off the ground.

I agree with you all on the MIBII thing. GB2 made more percentage profit than MIBII.

It is confusing, I guess you'd have to be one of the guys at sony to understand.

Its probably because of Evolution that they don't want to blow another 80 mill on GB3

2day on the news i herd that Sony has made over 1 billion dollors this summer on Box ofice reports so i think got enough money to do GB'3

Sure, we think Sony has enough money. Look at all the money Spider-Man and MIIB made alone. But they're studio executives. Enough is never enough! They're evil!|

There I said it.smile

Seriously, I don't see their problem with GB3. I don't think they realize the oppurtunity they have. If they gave GB3 the greenlight and it was a hit, they could milk GB for another ten years like before. A new cartoon would defintely roll around. Maybe GB4, who knows? If they're afraid of GB3 being bad, all they have to do is make sure they read the script.*coughs, points to MIB2*

I actually wonder if GB3 WAS greenlighted by Sony sometime in 2000, but then because Bill Murray wouldn't agree to it, it provided another reason why it won't get made. Dan was pretty optimistic before Bill said no.
