i was trying to find an easy, inexpensive way to mount my gun to my belt and the pack. i couldn't find the hangers mentioned in paranorman's plans and it cost a lot to have them custom made so i came up with this. At home depot I found OOK brand large keyhole hangers. They work with the same principle as hanging your phone on the wall. Those act as the female receptor and for the male you just need some #12 by 1" flat head screws. Using a nut,bolt and washer method you can mount them on your belt. i hope this helps someone.

Ok, I guess, for the mount on the pack, but for the mount on the belt, what is used in the movie is a small clip. They don't use the same mounting mechanism as for the pack. Take a look in the first movie, when Ray walks in the Sedgewick Hotel, smoking a cigarette, or Egon (just as good scene). Look at the way the gun is clipped on the belt, you'll understand.

I'm just talking function, here. I just can't find some of the parts I need and even though my pack is almost a perfect repica and I'd like it to be that way, when it comes down to the smallest details, I can live with a little bit of compremise

i've got the gun hooked up to the pack, granted, i haven't ran around with the pack on yet, it seems to be pretty secure. i reinforced the bottem of the gun with some plywood and mounted the male parts on it. the females go through a wood strip and particle board for the gun mount. the only thing is it's a little tricky to pull off and push on, no smooth glides like in the movie. what do you use to attatch the hose going to gun to belt?

for my first pack i made my gun mount out of two triangular peices of wood, and the long U shaped boarder that comes with cheap poster frames. i cut two peices from the frame and glued them along the boarder of the triangle, opening facing in. the plain triangle slides in and out of the other just fine.
for my new pack, i am making everything from scrath, including the resistors and such. what i want to do is make molds of these small parts so i can reproduce them if i need to. with the gunmount, i made it out of matboard. i know, the matboard isnt strong enough to hold the gun, but after i make the mold and pull a fiberglass cast it should be pretty damn strong.

i was talking about the diasplit tubing that connects gun to pack. in the movies it's looped and attatched to the belt. with what?

Probably another key ring but I still dont know what the hell you're talking about. I've never seen them do that in the movie before, was this just on one of the GBs uniforms or on all of them?
