Idea for next video game

With the sucess of the Lego video game adaptations, it got me thinking, what would it be like if Diamond select and Atari worked with Traveler's Tales on a Ghostbusters minimates game based on the two movies. I think would be great as the minimates are some what like Lego people made bigger and with more detail.

The game play would be some what like it is the Lego games and each Ghostbuster/ character would have similar abilities, to the Lego games, and would feature lots of unlockible (spelling) goodies.

I personally want a storyline revolving around Samhuin. That would be quite nice…

I think a good way to make a new Ghostbusters game would be to start with the Rookie and his new franchise in a new city. The first game would work as a good stepping stone to sending the player into a new game with the Ghostbusters mythos intact. You no longer have to rely on nostalgia elements since they were established in the first game… you have a new slate to create an original story and elements with the Ghostbusters branding.

I'm kinda of that mindset, (showing the results of opening up new ghostbusting franchises) though it'd be fun to see the original cast back again.

Though I dunno if you'd be able to be the Rookie, cause he'd be the most trained and experienced of the new group, so you'd probably have to finally give the Rookie a voice and a name, then bring in new possible recruits.

I'd love the game series to explore some areas of the various cartoons and comics that have come out over the years. Maybe bring in some ghosts from the show to make their “movie continuity” (loosely quoted there) debut. Or maybe spin off into a whole new area and bring in a new mythos to play with, be it actual ancient legends, myths, spooky campfire stories or stuff like the Cthulhu Mythos would all be areas ripe for using.

If they go with the original busters, would love to see some of the cut ideas from the first game get brought back. Scoleri Brothers, fighting Vigo, etc. That'd be fun.

But above all else, (regardless of what is decided) I'd love for there to be actual downloadable content (new missions, stuff taking place apart from the main story, etc.) and/or unlockable stuff. Different suits would be nice to see, (the dark blue suits from GB2, Real Ghostbusters colors, Original Akroyd Concept outfits, etc.). That and maybe a little more customization with the player character. Not saying “Create-a-Character” type stuff, but just choosing a few different things about him/her would be nice.

Please NO MORE LEGO GAMES!!!! they are stupid and unrealistic! I spoke to Lucasarts about this..instead of making that dumb star wars trilogy why didn't they make a real video game with good graphics for the Original Trilogy…its a poor excuse to sell a video game because it's easy to make.

they say that fans don't want to play the movie? i call BS. last time I played a good trilogy was on the super nintendo.

They're fun and add a new twist to the franchises they've adapted. They're not supposed to be realistic.

I know for a fact that if there was a “normal” video game adaptation of Episodes 1-3, I'd never play them because I'd never be interested in doing so, but in Lego forum, I played through them in co-op with my brother.

I also greatly enjoyed the Lego Indiana Jones series, as well as Lego Batman.

In addition to that, if they'd done a “serious” set of games based on the movies, it's unlikely they'd get all of the vocal actors back to reprise their roles.

Episode 1 was for the playstation one. it was a poor game…but it was really fun…episode 2 had no game…and episode 3 was for playstation 2 and xbox. they have never made any trilogy games on Xbox360 or ps3…they failed.

I don't play with legos…so why should I play a video game based on legos that look nothing like the real characters? its just silly.

it IS silly, that's the point. I get a huge laugh every time I play any of the Lego games

I would love a lego Ghostbusters game. It would be cool. Maybe it could be based off real ghostbusters instead of the movies. The movies would be cool but with Real Ghostbusters there would be more things you can put in the game.
