This is my first post, and I've was just looking through a bunch of the other posts on this index and I had this kind of half-idea that maybe some of you who are writing scripts try to turn them into novels and try to get them published. I know you might run into some trouble with Sony and them about copyrights but, hey like i said, this is just a half-formed idea. Thanks for listening.

Lol, the only way of getting that idea to work… is when the script would be exeptionally good. There are many good ideas for scripts on this forum and a lot of good authors… but if it would work for a novel… or even a movie… it's still a big step.

Don't forget about the costs for publishing the book…

but then again… finding a new word for ghostbusters would make it legal to publish without concerning about SONY. Besides … SONY doesn't even give sh.. about ghostbusters.

How about GHOSTCATCHERS? Or is that one already copyrightprotected?

I know Danny's original idea was Ghostsmashers…

Very few scripts are even worth reading, even fewer are ever finished. A novel would be wholly illegal thanks to copyright laws, and the costs involved in publishing such a novel would be prohibitive, especially when you consider how few copies would be sold. Realistically, no one is going to pay to read scripts of a film which will never be produced that have been written by some fan boys. Ghostheads will read fan-fiction, but the internet is a more than acceptable medium for the ‘publication’ of that.

@ Spengler7 - I believe that Ghostbusters was Dan's first choice for names, but when they discovered potential legal issues with using the title ‘Ghostbusters’ because of Filmation's cartoon he pencilled in Ghostsmashers as a possible replacement name. I'm sure I'll be corrected, but that's how I remember it.
