Personally as seems to be the spate as of late with revamping new movies (predator NOOOOOOOO), but GB I think is an ideal target personally i would love to see a new GB movie, it has everything the eighties had to offer action, comedy and drama and lets be honest who wouldn't kill to see the good old days with stanz, igon, venkman and ray back again, even if it was CGI c'mon guys lets get it sorted and get GB3 out there or at least the trailer to tease us and just the GB sign you only need to call it Ghostbusters (thats it)

First of all, its “Stantz” not “stanz” and “Egon” not “igon”…

Secondly, “stanz” and “ray” as you described them, are the same person…

Third, the idea of Ghostbusters 3 being a prequel doesn't really work, because before the first movie, they weren't Ghostbusters. They were scientists in a university. There would be no ghosts getting busted, no proton packs, and no Ecto-1. Basically, it would be pretty boring.

Fourth, you're asking for it to “get sorted out and get GB3 out there” but then you're asking for “at least a trailer”. They can't put out a trailer until anything has been greenlit, and at least some production has begun, which it hasn't. It is still in the script writing stage.

Yea, but in order to do that you're giving up any and all ghostbusting activities. Sure you could see flashbacks and stuff, but I don't think these guys pose an interesting enough story prior to becoming ghostbusters. It would still be a funny and interesting movie, don't get me wrong, but it wouldn't be “Ghostbusters”.

There's nothing to prequel to Ghostbusters really. All that they can explain is how they met, got into the University and started investigating ghosts. It would be pretty boring actually, and calling it Ghostbusters would be misleading as they never even actually busted a ghost until they got kicked out of the university.

As a couple of scenes in a film I can see it, side plot to novel for Ghostbusters, I can see it. But a whole movie about it? No. I don't think it would be a good move to make a film about Ghostbusters where they don't even bust a single ghost. And if they did bust any ghosts in a prequel, it would contradict the first film completely.
