I was thinking, what if the script is bad, and the project is finally dropped forever? I think it would be a very bad idea to completely say ‘hell with it’ , considering how many people are looking forward to the film outside of GB fans. Movie regulars and casual fans are still awaiting a third.

Since its been publicly and internationaly televised, and theres already hype building, it would be a big let down to have it be tossed away.

I say if the script, that the Newbies are writing is mediocre, i say, let Harold and Dan make corrections and keep it moving forward.

Especially after all the nagging everyones been giving them for the past 10+ years. Neither of them can go to an interview with out the words “GB3” being brought up.

The worst is the movie can't get any worser then GB2. I didn't mind GB2, it wasn't so bad, but the cloned aspects of story plots that stayed the same between films is the worst they can try not to do again. I'm sure they all learned from this mistake and realise that theres more stories that can be better than GB2's script was. GB3 in this respect can't get any worser. And for the story outline to have been been at least approved by Sony, Ramis, Ackroyd, Reitman and especially Murray, means it must be something impressive.

With the momentum they have going with all of the products, anniversary, and game, they have to strike while the iron is hot. If they don't it will be the most epic fail in history. We asked a Sony rep at the San Diego con and they seemed pretty confident something will finally get made. Let's just hope it doesn't stink. Heck even if it does we'll all still love it, granted everyone was excited about the figures and now that they're out they hate them, it's all part of a twisted cycle.

I may well be proven wrong in the coming months, but I have a feeling that something will happen this time. I just hope it's for the best.

Frankly they should've made the film years ago before they got too old… it would've been more of a big disappointment if production had started back in the 1990s and gotten someone only to be shelved.

With things as they are now, people have built up too many expectations, not to mention we're constantly seeing rumors of younger cast members because the original cast are so old…

I doubt that if Ghostbusters 3 were to be definitively cancelled now, that it would be as big a loss.

Part of me, frankly, would be relieved.

I think what you need to start understanding is that these guys ARE old. It WILL feature new actors alongside the old, and the inevitable plot device is the torch hand off. If you're already hearing “NOOOO!” inside of your head, then throw your hands up and walk away. It won't be a movie you want to see.

On the other hand, if something of Dan's creativity actually TOUCHED you. The universe, the premise, the equipment, the villains actually entertain you beyond the scope of the original four comedic actors, then there's alot more hope that you'll enjoy a third film.

Basically if the only reason you love Ghostbusters is for the four actors, you're far more likely to be disappointed. However, if it's scrapped, then yes, you will certainly be relieved.

As long as it didn't feature a Apatow-moronic trailer it would give it the benefit of the doubt and see it at the cinema, but my constant concerns have always been about choosing a cast that would be a crowd draw over a cast who had substance. My second reason for being so concerned about a new crew for a passed-torch scenario is if they would have anything close to the longevity the four Ghostbusters have enjoyed, and even if they were remembered, it was for the right reasons: IE, being a geneuinely funny and enjoyable cast.

I can tell you straight away that alarms would be going off if Seth Rogen or Jonah Hill were to star in it.

It would be very disapointing to see Ghostbusters 3 never made, but there is hope the last time i check, the script is ready to be polish. hopefully its still go.

The passing of the torch scenario is tired, and though I could live with a story like that, I would like to call reference to the latest Indiana Jones film which was a story of the same sort.

Personally, I think if you were truly touched by the work, the universe and whatnot that Aykroyd and Ramis created then you should be content with what you have instead of willing to endure something sub-par just to have more of it.

Lets just say this. If it comes out I'll see it opening night (even if Seth Rogen is in it, though I'll have to bring a vomit bag) but I'm gonna keep my expectations really low. The chances are just not in favor of it turning out well.
