I can tell you straight away that alarms would be going off if Seth Rogen or Jonah Hill were to star in it.

If Rogen is in it, i will not watch it, it'll be like Terminator 3 to me, it wont exist…

I tell you what GB3 would be good for, a few months back i was shopping in HMV and there was some kid in there with his mum, he must have been like 5-6 and he saw Ghostbusters on dvd and was begging him mum to get it for him, GB3 will be for that kid, i was so happy to see that even the harrypotter/ben10/spongebob generation can still appreciate something thats good.

However, his whining made me want to punch kittens….

Who are you fooling? If your a fan, your going to watch it even if they cast power rangers with they suits and Zoids to battle huge ghosts. Yeah, your be there, and so will I And sony knows that. If it wasn't for Bill Murray, who'd know where the ghostbusters “Name” would be by now.

As for the kids……it has ghosts and heroes in it. They will come, cause sony wants the money so they will do promotions…..one word for you……“Transformers”. Trust me if those to movies and new animated series could sell, Ghostbusters III will have no problems.

They'd be celebrating their 25th Birthday this year.

While I personally believe that Murray added to the appeal of the franchise I do not believe it was he that sold it…in that without him it would still have been as memorable of a franchise as it currently is

I wish everyone would just admit that for them to like GB3 they want to see Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, Bill Murray and Ernie Hudson look/act just like they did in GB1/2. I've read alot of posts here and people seem to just want a continuation from GB2… No character development and no fundamental changes… Conversly, I think the majority of people here will be hostile towards any new GBs no matter who plays them. Seth Rogen and Jonah Hill are the closest thing that we have to the old SNL/Second City gang that came together to form the GBs we love. If they aren't played by comedians, who will play them? Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson?

i agree, for this 2 work we need an upcoming click that is funny, there seems to be alot of those now adays. I for sure do not want ANY actors or and high profile celebs. I think seth might possibly work , im not in his favor but depending the other cast it might work. Well see

to be honest i dont see GB3 being scrapped what so ever there is alot of interest in revisiting retro markets again, Hollywood is pretty much out of it when it comes down to making new ideas for movies Ghostbusters isn't the only franchise recieving an overhaul Thundercats and Masters OF the Universe are said to being made as well?

When it comes down to it Sony have successfully tested the waters with the Video which exceeded sales expectations, a DVD set and merchandise from the official web site so me personnally it wouldn't make good business sense to stop GB3 from happening. I think regardless of the scrip being finished Dan and Harold will over look it first and make alterations where needed to make the story fit.

Thats my view anyways. My only real worry is if Ghostbusters see's the likes of Jack Black enter into the franchise tbh he is one of the most over rated and terrible comedic actors i have ever seen.
