Well, I personally like the mini marshmallows that the boss sends up to you in that stage, its either that or having to cross the streams again, and thats something that we're trying to avoid in this game.

I also like the different upgrades to the proton pack, and I still don't think that you should select just one weapon before going into somewhere by yourself. Just imagine, trying to use the Slime Blower on a ghost thats not effected by it and not having the proton pack. You're pretty ****ed I think.

Ghosts affected by the… cold? I never heard of that and I don't like it.

Yeah, not something I'd think of, but why not. Lots of scientific basis for the ghosts in this franchise so I'm sure there is a valid explanation for how it could work. Besides, the Electron Beam only works on some ghosts. Others it would be a bad idea to use against according to some of the articles.

Lol, you run away back to the car in a hurry, to return in the place that is now worst than it was at the beginning!

“Sorry, ma'am, it won't take long… we're profesionnals!” :-)

Realy, it's not like you'll be alone in those missions. If you made a bad choice for some teamates, the others will have the right stuff.

And you're a recruite, your teachers may give you advices on what tech you should use, or ask you to wear something different just in case, or you can simply decide to take something different… and find an advantage on the game level when you didn't expect it.

If you're completely alone, it's a problem to not have the right tools; I prefer that the game won't give the option for those missions. But it can be a fun factor too; the recruite is sended for the first time on a solo mission, to see if he's capable to take care of things. An easy mission, but you took the wrong choice. You lose the mission and a clue. If you took the right choice, the mission would be longer and challenging, it add to the replayability.

I'm sure there's other concepts not explored yet against that big guy.
Make him burn, try to melt him, who know what's hiding under all that candystuff. I know that in the original movie, there's nothing, but in a “revenge”, a bad surprise might wait :-O

I see only a gameplay concept in it. But let see what they'll do. Perhaps someone who died under the cold may fear it now as a soul…

Yeah but the whole NewYork had paranormal activity, right? What horror story you could have heard only by visiting a market, the garage, your job, or from a “friend-who-have-a-friend” victim of a mad spirit. At school, the teachers are giving advices about what you should do if you encouter a ghost. The town is under a big confusion. Dark story are flooding the medias. There's even new “professionals” who “bust” ghosts in the city! Your kids are scared and now they saw on tv that giant unexplicable thing crashing grandma's car!?

True, but remember this game is set seven years after the last appearance of Stay Puft… and by the start of the second film, set in 1989 most people had pretty much forgotten about it. As it's been nearly a decade for the city it's not much of a surprise the company may have spun out a marketing promotion to make him more cuddly again.

Anyway the Stay Puft scene does sound like it'll seem almost impossible, he will be throwing cars and helicopters at you.

Why not a big ugly monster, the only thing you can do against him is to use your particle beam, while trying to avoid the objects that he throws at you. It'll be a good thing to block some “blockable projectiles” with your beam to gain advantage. It will look soon like an impossible enemy but, as he starts to weaken, you'll see some instability in his body; moving forms… he's made of ghosts! The player will need to pull the ghosts out of his body, making him shrink, and try to trap them while some others will be able to get back in the monster. The last ghosts will be more difficult to capture. At the end, the no more giant will separates into a little group of ghosts to attack the player in a hell of a fight.

I'll assume English isn't your first language.

Who's to say Egon wouldn't have blended the two guns together? Slime Blower and proton pack. Add a (granted smaller) tank of slime onto the pack and attach a nozzle, good to go.

What, it was that bad? Ohhh. Well, I made some modification, hoping that it turns better.

I'll assume English isn't your first language.

“Charles, get out of my miiiiiiind!” :-@ :p :-)

I'd certainly prefer a big ugly monster under his marshmallow exterior than him being made of hundreds of ghosts.

I mean, he's not Oogie Boogie from The Nightmare before Christmas, the unusuaed concept would've been that after the marshmallow had burned off, he'd be reduced to a stickey skeleton. Anway, as we've seen we know how to beat him, set his marshmallow projectiles on fire and send them hurtling back at him until he's knocked free and falls to the ground.

I don't like that concept, it's an old recipe on a different camera angle. It give a taste like they didn't know what to do to fight StayPuft; the big guy is under the player, throwing vehicles and marshmallow… And you need again to beat the monster by returning him his own attacks. :p

I prefer to see him from the ground, walking toward me in a attempt to crush my body, hitting the building to make stones fall, raising dust everywhere, kicking cars and grabbing lampposts, wall pieces to throw at me, starting fire and explosion, his sinister laugh in a big echos.

The particle beam makes him angry, burning, making the marshmallow melt slowly. The flames slowly disapear under the action. At 50% of HP, the ugly monster finaly appears under what's left of the burning/smoking candy. Almost organic. All charred with boiling ectoplasmic activity. But he's not impress and his attack become deadlier as he destroy even the road by the eathquake of some foot steps. Water pipe break and now it's rainning in the cloud of dust; confusing the player's vision and making the enemy more nightmarish. It's all or nothing, and you continue your attack on the big sailor.

At 25% of HP, you see some instability; hundreds of shadows are moving in his silhouette. As the player concentrate the particle beam on the monster's body, a dark ghost with no face nor legs appears, captured in the beam. Without knowing what's going on, the player send the ghost to a teamates who will take care of it. The sailor is mad, and the brutal attacks are more precise.

Another ghost is pulled out, and you hear your teamate scream that you won't have enough trap if it's going to be like this. He takes the radio and beg for Ecto1's portable containment unit. “It's on its way!” the radio answer “but it will take sometime, too many roads are in bad condition because of StayPuft!” The player will need to survive the clock.

Ecto now behind you, all the team is on the battlefield. The ghosts are pulled slowly. If the ghosts doesn't get back in the monster, the giant starts to lose power. At 0 HP, suddenly, he explodes in an army of ghosts on rampage. It's the last fight… will you be able to not cross the stream?

Yeah, I prefer THAT compared to that singular roof scene. (*peter)

'Old recipe'? ‘you need again toi beat the monster by returning him his own attacks’? I can understand that from a gaming perspective, definately… but not in a story context as they never even fought him in the film other than scarring him and setting him on fire.

That said, some of the old methods are tried and trusted.

…you do know he's not even the final big enemy, right? Something like that might work if it were an end of game badguy…
