The server has been busy so you might need to refresh a couple times or come back at less peak times. CG technology is advancing at amazing speeds.

Some things that are not quite right: ears, mouth corners, identical hair ends at some places

I know GB3 wont be that detailed but man i wish it were… then use live action for all scenes but have the guys just CGI and Ghost… it be amazing

If any movie would be that detailed it would take a few lifetimes to make!

Still very impressive. If you do look at it for a bit you can see it's drawn (points you mentioned, plus her nose is rotated slightly).

I wouldn't mind seeing the process step by step to remove any doubt of skepticism.

Wow! Amazing! Look so real!

If anyone interested, I found a boxing video game that comes very close that it looks real.

I forgot what the game is called but it's available on the XBox 360.

When I first saw the game, I thought it was real until I realized it's a video game.

In Shrek, the first one, they princesses hair was TO real, they had to tone it down. The ability do realistic stuff has been around, so I think this could be easily done. Just chain as many computers together as you can.

That's one of the best CGI works I have ever seen. I have my reservations about this supposed GB3 CGI thing, but if it can be done to look as schmick as possible, I can relax. I can't help it - as a big fan, I admit I have certain hopes and expectations. But if the film is done with fantastic quality, i'm sure it will have a strong enthusiastic response.

I lurk cgs.org all of the time. And I can tell you that's a very good piece, superbly realistic. However, that took the creator MONTHS working hours and hours at a time to do that. And it's one single still. Now just imagine how long it would take to create thousands of stills just like that for a 100 minute film, AND adding the animation on top of that. It would take years and over 200 Million USD. On another note, that picture is 600x600, for a film, they'd have to render it in HD to fit 35MM. If you were to put that pic on 35MM, it wouldn't look even almost as good.

When I first heard plans to make it CGI, I thought “oh shit”, Akroyd's going to destroy the franchise. The more thought I gave it, the more I began to like the idea. The monsters will look great, and since the action sequences won't be limited by actors, there's a possibility of some nail-biting action. Something i'd like to see in the upcoming flick.

On the subject of how they should do it, I say do it like Final Fantasy Advent Children. For a CG movie, it was done excellent, and had a great story to boot (im speaking of the original japanese version of corse).
