The server has been busy so you might need to refresh a couple times or come back at less peak times. CG technology is advancing at amazing speeds.

Some things that are not quite right: ears, mouth corners, identical hair ends at some places

If any movie would be that detailed it would take a few lifetimes to make!

Still very impressive. If you do look at it for a bit you can see it's drawn (points you mentioned, plus her nose is rotated slightly).

I wouldn't mind seeing the process step by step to remove any doubt of skepticism.

Wow! Amazing! Look so real!

If anyone interested, I found a boxing video game that comes very close that it looks real.

I forgot what the game is called but it's available on the XBox 360.

When I first saw the game, I thought it was real until I realized it's a video game.

In Shrek, the first one, they princesses hair was TO real, they had to tone it down. The ability do realistic stuff has been around, so I think this could be easily done. Just chain as many computers together as you can.

That's one of the best CGI works I have ever seen. I have my reservations about this supposed GB3 CGI thing, but if it can be done to look as schmick as possible, I can relax. I can't help it - as a big fan, I admit I have certain hopes and expectations. But if the film is done with fantastic quality, i'm sure it will have a strong enthusiastic response.

I lurk cgs.org all of the time. And I can tell you that's a very good piece, superbly realistic. However, that took the creator MONTHS working hours and hours at a time to do that. And it's one single still. Now just imagine how long it would take to create thousands of stills just like that for a 100 minute film, AND adding the animation on top of that. It would take years and over 200 Million USD. On another note, that picture is 600x600, for a film, they'd have to render it in HD to fit 35MM. If you were to put that pic on 35MM, it wouldn't look even almost as good.

When I first heard plans to make it CGI, I thought “oh shit”, Akroyd's going to destroy the franchise. The more thought I gave it, the more I began to like the idea. The monsters will look great, and since the action sequences won't be limited by actors, there's a possibility of some nail-biting action. Something i'd like to see in the upcoming flick.

On the subject of how they should do it, I say do it like Final Fantasy Advent Children. For a CG movie, it was done excellent, and had a great story to boot (im speaking of the original japanese version of corse).
