Attending school for my second degree in Media Arts and Animation since drawing and animation was always a passion of mine. Got through the first quarter of being a part time student and wanted to share my new experience with the use of markers and color pencils from my color theory class. Dug up some old artwork of Real Ghostbusters and went old school in coloring instead of using the digital method (Photoshop). Will get into Photoshop later this year, but having some fun with the old method.

That is some pretty spectacular art there… Especially love the inclusion of Dante. That'd make a pretty cool team up… Dante and the Real Ghostbusters. (Though I sorta think Dante and Venkman would butt heads a bit.)

Though I dunno bout Ichigo considering in his soul reaper form, he'd be a ghost. (Or enough like a ghost to make him trappable.) And that might mean the Ghostbusters would try and trap him. (Which would still make for a pretty awesome picture or story.)

But alas, I ramble on… Good work with the art. I hope to see more from you.

I will agree that Peter and Dante would butt heads, considering that Dante is a half-demon, but Peter would set aside the conflict once he sees Dante's associates and female troublemakers, Trish and Lady.

Considering normal humans can't see Ichigo's soul reaper form until they were spiritually sensitive or around ghosts for a very long time, maybe the GBs would be able to see him. They may mistake him as around ghost until they see the hollows that he fights and realize that are on the same side. Otherhand, Ichigo might not approve they methods of trapping and containing ghosts rather than “purify” them like the soul reapers do to maintain balance and allow souls to move on for high judgement. GBs might be view like the Quincy (another group of ghosthunters in the Bleach universe). Overall, might make interest read if the writer portrays the GBs as scientists that use good judgement rather than guys just shooting and trapping ghosts all the time.

Normal humans can't see the Shinigami… but the Ghostbusters aren't exactly normal. Like you said they have been around ghosts alot so they might be able to see them. But there is the other possibility that spirit particles are just another name for ectoplasm. (Or even a similar sort of substance operating on similar principles.) If this were the case then the Ghostbusters could potentially use the PKEs and Ecto-goggles to see the Shinigami.

Though the Quincy actually destroyed the hollows, not actually purifying them like the Shinigami, thus was the primary reason the Quincy were mostly extinguished.
So I don't think the Ghostbusters would be viewed quite the same. To me it'd seem more like the Ghostbusters were like a jail rather than anything else. Possibly the shinigami might ask that the Ghostbusters release the trapped souls for processing/purification. Though if they refused then you could bet they'd end up the way of the Quincy.

Sorry for the long wait to color this one… Enjoyed my class in Color Theory last quarter and went back to my old pencils and inked work.

I've always liked your work, and this particular one strikes a particular chord. I've been an Egon and Janine fanboy pretty much since the beginning, and nobody's even come close to putting them with anyone else and making it work.

Any thoughts of trying to redraw it, or something similar, now, with ten more years of artistic experience under your belt?

Many thanks of replying back, greatly appreciate it that you are fond of my work. I do have to say after working in the corporate sector and nearly dropping out of illustrating altogether, my skills need a major jump start and re-polishing. I am planning to draw more after going through my old line art work and get better at color them. This quarter I am taking image manipulation and typography so I hope to get some improvement out of this.

A buddy of mine is sponsoring me in the Artist Alley of this coming Chicago Comic Con and I hoping to do some commission work (I need the money or some part-time work while I go to school). I am still working my own creations but mostly working on fan art of Real Ghostbusters, South Park, Total Drama Island/Action and various Video Game/Anime characters.

wish I could finish the coloring pieces I had started for yah, but my home computer went awol a while back. Its in the shop now, hopefully they can fix it.
