I dunno if any of you have seen the first wave of the Iron Man 2 figures (or even care for that matter) but I finally got to see them for myself today when I was at a Toys R' Us. Initially after seeing the first images of them as they appeared at Toyfare '10, I was excited about the line as a whole and really really wanted more than a few of them. I have to say that much to my disappointment, that has changed. While some of the armor designs the figures sport do intrigue me
the figures themselves, I got to say, do not impress me in the least. Hasbro has decided to forgone with the 6″ toys that were standard for the previous figure line for 3.75″; which interestingly is the current standard size of the figures of most of the other Marvels properties.
While I understand that it is cheaper and economical to make them at this size (after all for the cost of a single 6" three 3.75" figures can be made) it still disappoints me. The end result makes the figures look cheap
almost to the point they look like they came out of a McDonalds Happy Meal…back in the mid 90s when McDonald's actually tried.
This all makes wish for my youth.
