Is this a joke??

Back in 1989, when Ghostbusters 2 was released on theaters, it wasn´t that successful because it had a great competition with Tim Burton´s Batman… and now, 20 years later, when Ghostbusters the Videogame is released, Batman Arkham Asylum appears and overshades our beloved man in gray…

Accident or doom??

Since the GB game is great, but some like me think it is incomplete, it could be that Batman is just a better overall product. I have both and I love GB, but really the multiplayer should have been much better with the time they had to work on it and the lack of things like singleplayer coop was just silly. Batman doesn't have multiplayer, but all it's parts work and have fine polish. So that may be the issue…..

Video games also sell quite a bit differently than movies, since games are almost never taken off the market, in many cases don't get additional promotion after its been out for awhile etc. And of course, I think Batman has a much broader audience.

Just coincidence, and it's not helping that Arkham already made it into the records books as the video game with the highest average critic rating ever.

Maybe GB2 wasn't that good of a movie to begin with? Maybe GBTVG wasn't that good of a video game to begin with… OMG, coincidence!?

Batman (the movie) was released one week after Ghostbusters II. Batman Arkham Asylum was released more than two months after Ghostbusters The Videogame. In today's world of games being hot for about 2 weeks Ghostbusters was already done for in the minds of most gamers.

Oh really you didn't like the game? I didn't realize that, it's not like you ever mentioned it before.

Batman was supposed to come out before the GB game though, but was delayed because in they testing the found an error they needed to fix (at least that's what I remember reading) - so it may have actually worked to the advantage of the GB game. Instead of GB coming out a right at a week after Batman was released, with everyone in the middle of Batman, GB came out without being in the shadow of Batman, and had 2 months of sale time on it's own.

Just a thought. I have absolutely no sale data to back up my opinion. Admittedly though, I own and enjoy both games.

Think of all the idiots that I have read that constantly praise this game here… I've admitted that there are things that I like about this game… 99% of people here refuse to admit that there are any problems with it…

No, everyone knows there are problems with it. Every game has problems…some more than others…everyone else just likes to look at the glass half empty…not half full of feces…which you apparently do
