It's either original cast or nothing

As far as their aging goes, in my mind, this could make for awesome jokes. Just think of Egon trying to fit into his old suit and falling over struggling to zip it up lol…

I would love to see GB3 with just the origional cast but Sony would never fund a project that calls for such a large budget with “over the hill” actors. Personally I would enjoy it much more with just the origional GB's but too much time has passed for that now.

Welcome! Hope you'll like it here.

Yes the original cast would be cool, but some new faces should be added. After all the Boys in Gray are not getting any younger and they did have problems climbing up those stairs in part one already. Imagine them doing it now smile

The originals are just about too old. Unless it's made SOON (not likely), they're gonna have to be relegated to mentor characters at best.

What's important to a new GB team is that they have qualities that make you like them just as much as the originals – but without rehashing the originals with new names by young actors.

A challenge, it seems, that Dan Aykroyd isn't up to.

Aykroyd was the only one pushing for it man. He gave it his best shot. Perhaps if the other parties(Bill Murray) backed him more it would have been made.

Yes, I agree Texasgb. I just don't understand why Bill Murray doesn't want to make it? What's his reasoning behind it? What, he can make Osmosis Jones but not Ghostbusters 3?

I was referring to the fact that he couldn't create new and fresh characters that could make the Hellbent script fly (the hydrocephalic kid? Come on).

But I have to agree that yes, Aykroyd lost many a hair trying to keep his baby and ours alive.

First off, allow me to introduce myself. My handle (I know it is spelled wrong) is DeanYaeger. The first movie that I remember seeing is Ghostbusters. I was 2, and I remember laughing at it back then. And it only gets funnier the more I watch it.

And now, to the matter at hand. I think it would be cool to have the original cast come back, but I think it would be awesome if they were to pave the way for others to carry on the traditions. Sort of like a “The Next Generation” kind of thing. Nobody is about to deny that the original cast is getting old. I think that youth needs to be infused, but that they should not entirely take over, because I think today's “comic talent” sucks. But, basically, I think that what makes a good movie is good writing and good casting. Writing DOES take precedence in my mind, but a lot of minds say that cast is better than content. I think that's B.S.

But, I digress. If the movie is to happen, I think that it needs to be a labor of passion from those involved, reflecting in a great script and great character work. If it does happen, I will be the first in line to see it.

Take care, and God bless.
