ABOVE NEW YORK CITY

Black clouds swirl together… lightning strikes.

EXT. MAYOR’S OFFICE WINDOW

Mayor Lenny walks up to the window cautiously, his face full of horror. He peers out of the window…

LENNY: ”Somebody get me the Ghostbusters!”

Ray Parker, Jr.'s GB theme starts up with the original spooky intro.

CUT TO

INT. GB FIREHOUSE

Close up on Janine Melnitz, she is talking on the phone and suddenly slams it down, and slaps her hand down on the bell.

CUT TO

EXT. GB FIREHOUSE

The black Firehouse doors burst open and the ECTO-1 screeches past and drives around the corner. A man in a messy blue suit is walking down the street, briefcase in hand. As the ECTO drives past him, it splashes water from a puddle on him. The man throws his briefcase on the ground in anger and the camera zooms in on his face. It's Walter Peck, he sneers and spits.

CUT TO

INT. DANA BARRETTS APARTMENT

Dana is happily playing the Cello. She hears the ECTO-1’s siren. Dropping her cello she runs over to the window and pokes her head out. Below she sees the ECTO-1 drive past. She smiles as the sight of it and the camera zooms in on her face.

CUT TO

EXT. SEDGEWICK HOTEL

The ECTO-1 drives past, a moment later a terrified crowd bursts out, followed by a small green ghost (Slimer.), it's face stuffed with hot dogs. The camera zooms in and it grins mischievously.

CUT TO

NEW YORK HARBOR

The area is under Police control. There are crowds behind police fencing. The camera pans in over the water, it is filled with ghosts and sea monsters.

CUT BACK TO

NEW YORK HARBOR

The ECTO-1 pulls up, the GB’s jump out and begin putting on their equipment. At the back Louis Tully (In regular clothes.) jumps out, he tries to run over to the Ghostbusters, waving a tax return in his hands. Louis is pulled back by two Police Officers, he futily points to the Ghostbusters and inaudibly begs to be let go, but he is forced into the crowd.

The camera pans in on the back of the four Ghostbusters who are standing by the waterside looking out over it. The camera sweeps round to the front of them and stops in a picture perfect pose. The four GB’s pull up their Particle Throwers and fire at the screen. There is an explosion and the screen goes black.

The no-ghost logo zooms into view…

This was my idea, too, Iain! :p

I edited the mistakes out of this one. It's great. It would be perfect for a new cartoon based on this comic. For the ending credits, they could just march/dance down the street in a parade. like they did on RGB.

I've been fantasising about a GB TV show for years.

I'd prefer something in the more adult vein of, for example, Angel rather than a teen/kids thing like Buffy, though. Something dark, but with comedic elements, a cast of relative unknowns portraying the characters we know best, in their youth rather than middle age. Good casting, good scripts (get JMS on board), some decent special effects, smoking, cursing, bad-ass vehicles and equipment, genuinely frightening cases to get the guys to work on, and Sinister's suggestion sounds like the perfect intro…

Pardon me whilst I drool at the thought.

Of course, it would have to have quite a high budget to work well, with the sfx and the equipment and vehicles and such…

*goes to get a mop to clean up drool*

I think it'd be better as a cartoon than a live-action TV show. And it should air during Adult Swim on Cartoon Network.

Lain, that's awesome. I practically urinated when I was reading that (but I do have a bladder control problem). Now Im going to be thinking about different intros and promos for a new ghostbusters cartoon.

That's definitely sweet, Iain, but it might not work well if totally based off the comic because I thought Dana and Slimer weren't gonna be in it. But I guess I could be wrong.

For the ZILLIONTH time, Dana, Louis, and Walter Peck WILL be in the comic! :p

Slimer will be in it, but he won't be their pet, and he won't appear very often.
