Kevin Smith Direct GB3?

As cool as it would be to see K (the man) S directing Ghostbusters 3, I don't think that it would necessarily be a good thing for the franchise. I know that the guy is a fan (actually met him while wearing my khaki Ghostbusters shirt from Hot Topic to which he said “Cool shirt, where'd you get it?”) but would his writing/directing style fit? I don't think so…

Although, Jason Lee as a GB… hmmm… add him onto the Netmeister's all-time top five GB3 actor candidates. Which now includes, Bruce Campbell, Sam Jackson, Jason Lee, Patrick Warburton, and Chris “We Found A Way to Clone Humans and Bring 'Em Back from Beyond” Farley.

As for M. Night Shayamalamamanan, I think that he proved with Signs that he was a one hit wonder. Was I the only one that found that movie laughably funny?

Kev would be great person to direct GB3 if Flecth Won is has good as Flecth One (Pun indended) then we know that Kev can do comdedies set out side the Veiw Askewinverse.

Also someone metioned that some one serious should direct how about the master of the black suited bad guy QT himself (Quentin Tarantino to those of you who are to young and proberly missed his last film) He's a pretty serious director he could do a pretty good job.

I can see it now the guys show up for a bust

Cut to:

INT: ECTO-1's BOOT - DAY

We look out on the GB's as the pull out the rack and begin to put thier gear on.

The boot scenes are a classic trademark. Even Kev used it in Clerks.

Hasn't done anything else????

Hmmm, well let me see, he's written successful runs on Green Arrow, Spiderman, and Daredevil books which have arguably been some of the best storylines to ever grace said characters pages.

He's ghost-written on countless projects. Some we know about, some we probably never will- Coyote Ugly comes to mind.

And Chasing Amy. Want to call that an Askewniverse film? It's the most serious tone of any of his films and still damn funny.

With the tecnology as it is today, you have to wonder HOW MUCH they're gonna use (or as I like to say, abuse) computer animation for the next GB. I kind of like the way the ghosts looked in the first GB. I really hope they don't give the ghosts a “cartoonish” look just to attract a larger fanbase. They need to make the ghosts look scary!!!
If theres a scene with thousands of ghosts In the picture, I'm all for CGI. But individually, I really hope they go back to the old, more maticulous style.
What do you think?

Really I think Ghostbusters has a certain film style unique to Ivan. I think if anyone else directed GB3 it would infact become a failure. Keep Ivan all the way. It's fun to think about oother directors, but not logical.

The View Askew mascott movie is Vulgar it was written and directed by Byran Johnson (Steve-Dave) and started Brain O'Halloran from Clerks with SMith and Jason Mewes in pit parts, minor roles. Vulgar never went to the theaters but was released on DVD last year.
