The original is a classic, but as a fan of the original, I also enjoyed the remake.

True, the remake could have been worse. My problem with it is that it's more of an action film and ignores many of the things that made the original so great. The sense of dread and commentary on consumerism is almost completely absent. It's a remake in name and location only. “Dawn” and a mall….thats it.

It's not as bad as the Day of the Dead remake, though. smile That movie is so bad it's hilarious. And Day is my favorite of Romero's original dead trilogy.

I never cared for the original Day of the Dead… nor Night actually, now that I reflect on it.

Day is my favorite with Dawn a very close second. Day is just a straight buzz kill. In-your-face horror with no apologies. Over 25 years later and I still haven't seen a film that scared me like Day. Not to mention the incredible special effects.

At the time of release it was panned because it wasn't an adventurous romp like Dawn, but it's grown into it's own classic status over the years.

And hey man…..Bub. Bub is the man! smile

Howabout Henry Rollins as Killowog?

While I am unfamiliar with anything else he has done, I think he was a marginally better Kilowog than Michael Madsen was in First Flight.

Personally, I am curious how Michael Clarke Duncan is going to do as Kilowog in the Live Action movie. There is just something about that that seems right some how.

Never saw the Day of the Dead remake. Tell me, did it have a “Bubs” like entity in it?

Instead of “Bub” we get a young guy named “Bud”. He's a vegetarian zombie. No joke. Oh….nd the zombies can climb on ceilings….

Don't watch the Day remake as a serious film. If you ever sit down to give it a viewing, expect a disaster the likes of Batman & Robin and you should have a great comedy on your hands. It would make an incredible episode of MST3K….

With all this talk about Dawn and Day of the Dead, I might have to watch a zombie flick.
I'm currently watching The 'Burbs.
Last weekend I took my kids to see Kung Fu Panda 2, which was really good.

“An American in Paris” - one of the few movies that will get me a little misty-eyed.

If that leaves this forum, I'll crack your skull with a tree branch.
