I ask this as I only signed up this evening *waves* (Hello!)

Is there an official release date as to when the comics will hit the street? I know it's in February, but I want to make sure that I don't miss out on anything.

I AM ALL FOUR GHOSTBUSTERS! (*peter) (*ray) (*egon) :p

Well, at least in the comic book I am. :-)

Steve Kurth, the artist on the 88MPH Ghostbuster series is a friend of mine and when I told him that I had assembled a Ghostbuster costume, he came over and took copius amounts of digital pics of me in the suit for reference.

I also had my Ecto 1 Polar Lights kit built up so he took some shots of that as well.

Its really funny for me to open up the comic and look at the poses and think “Hey…I remember doing that pose! Holding that stance for 5 minutes really hurt!”

But it's cool to know I'm part of the Ghostbuster universe (even if only as a stand-in)!!

I'm afraid I have to be a bit of a killjoy, but do you have any sort of proof to back this up? I mean, you could be legitimate (And probably are), but just about anyone can make that claim.

I'd love to. I wouldn't post a story like that here without being able to back it up. I do alot of pretty odd stuff and I can understand why people might have a hard time swallowing it.

I run a special effects and prop shop here in Minneapolis caleld Minnefex,Inc. (www.mnfx.com). I am also a puppeteer and make puppet videos for grown-up audiences under the name The Puppet Forge (www.puppetforge.com). I have also started making fine art retro-raygun sculptures under the monniker “G-MAN Beam Weapon Arts”. I'll be happy to send you jpegs of my work.

But aside from giving out Steve's personal phone number or email address, it might be a bit difficult.

He and his wife Nikki just moved from the Minneapolis area back to Steve's old stomping ground in Wisconsin. Its too bad, too, cuz we were supposed to go out for sushi, but never got around to it. I currently have him tapped to do the pencils for my comic series “Deep Salvage” once he's off the Ghostbuster gig.

We originaly met back in the 1990s when the guys I was working for were trying to hire Steve to illustrate their comic series called “The Fall”. I had him do a couple of sketches for another idea I had called “Doctor Nighthawk”…which was a 1930's pulp hero sort of property. It didn't go, but he did some pretty cool stuff for it.

Just about a year ago, Steve did the pencils for a Deep Salvage ashcan comic to help me get it into the public eye. It was well received, but I still haven't been able to snare a decent publisher. I'm talking with Mark Smylie of Archaia Press (ARTESIA) right now about the possibility of publishing D.S. under his banner. We'll see.

I wanted Steve to do up another 4 pager for me to put out as an ashcan at FallCon here in Minneapolis, but he was too busy finishing up a gig doing GI Joe trading card art. He got it laid out, but couldn't manage the pencils in time for me to assemble it and get it lettered, etc.

When I get the opprtunity, should you still insist on verification, I'll get him to drop by the board, maybe sign up, and post the story for himself.

You can also contact the staff of The Source Comics & Games in St.Paul, MN. They're a bunch of stand-up fellas and could verify my wild ramblings any time you like. You'd probably want to talk to Chad, Hans or Nick. They all know Steve and I well.

There you go. Either I am the world's biggest liar or I know Steve Kurth and he took pictures of me to use as reference in doing the 88MPH comic. Your choice.

There you go, Kingpin. You should have a personal email from Steve himself in your mailbox to confirm.

Enjoy.

spcglider: I believe you have convinced me, I haven't received an email from Mr. Kurth yet, but with the upgrades and trouble I've had with the MSN spam filter, it might arrive soon. It is nice to meet someone who is increibly willing to proove himself, sometimes it's hard to explain how one guy can't be trusted…and we've had enough guys posing as Sony Execs, Sebastien himself and even Dan Aykroyd to sour relations with the real people…I can attest to my rather poor treatment initially when Micheal Gross posted here.

Deep Salvage sounds interesting, if you don't mind my asking (You may be wanting to keep it secret), but what is the premise behind the book?

Are there any particular trademarks that have been used in the scenes you posed for, did you act out Venkman's collapse in Legion# 2?
