Legends of Ghostbusters

Hello all.

Otter- my role is sort of in a leadership position but acts like one of the guys. I too am “peterish” (if you dont mind me stealing that verb specter ) I like to add sarcasm with some good one liners and when it comes down to it, I know my stuff, I just dont act like it(most of the time anyway). I think its a good idea for you to be sort of a receptionist/head mechanic/engineer since we have so many ghostbusters and you seem very qualified with working with fan fiction and creative discussions.

Team- So what do you guys think about it?

I am Dr. Kye Stevens in the Fan Fction. My character is a Doctorof team. He's all serious persona, but has a great sence of humor. Never takes a break, and loves to work, like a complete workaholic. And knows a ton about urban Myths and legends, he had an interest in them before he became a doctor. Plus, he's more Egonish, in a way.

And Otter, welcome to the team. :d

PS.. Halso has two cat one named Maggie, who is all sweet and cuddly. he other one is named , Mr. Whiskers, a rather tomcat, whose rather nice and laid back, but don't upset him, he'll crap on everything you own.

We have some Peters, Rays, and Egons. Any Winstons on our team yet?

I'm pretty sure Proton User said he was a “Winston”. :s

While I'm mentioning Proton User, I just went by the GBWC site and it's off to a great start. Thanks for the link, Robert–and it's no problem. I plan to have a link to the GBWC site, along with the banner/signature line some of us are using, later tonight or tommorow morning (like I said, the Lycos server's been…mischievous with me the last couple days)

Once we get our origin established and become an Official GB Inc. Division, I will submit the Prolog to Dr. Belmont for posting on GBN, if that's all right with everybody.

I'm Dr. Fritz V. Baugh, and yeah, I'm one of the Egons, though not as smart (who is, after all?) but less spaced out in some ways, I would say (believe me, if a classy redheaded secretary hits on me, I'd do something about it!) I haven't determined yet what my Doctorate is yet–as we have other PhDs in the team, I'd like to find out before I choose to maximize our potential. I lean toward Chemistry (my Major during my abbrieviated Real World college carreer), some kind of History/Folklore or Anthropology specialty (Ancient Religions or Tribal Cults or something potentially useful like that), or even something wackier like Temporal Physics, as a time travel story is part of our Grand Design (for the Southern Team if I remember right, while I'm on the North Team but that still might be useful). Maybe I can be a little less Egon a little more Doc Brown :d

Ray Parker Jr.: Welcome back, and it's great to be working with you. Your idea about being a latecomer has some potential, especially if we play it up for some “these guys were bonded together by something big and supernatural and I wasn't so sometimes I don't really feel like one of them” subplots, though that's up to you. And what is your name? Actually saying your character's name just happens to be Ray Parker Jr. is fine with me, just expect that the fact that your name is Ray Parker Jr. and you're a Ghostbuster to probably be used for some comedy :s :d

Peter Kong: Hey, I won't be the only Hoosier on the team! But as for your family, that's quite a can of worms you're potentially opening there…there are lots of FGB haters in this board (I've been one of them–there are two FGB crossovers, one with RGB, once with XGB, sitting on my hard drive that are rather nasty to the Filmation guys). But I respect your speaking up for the only Ghostbusters probably less popular than the Extreme or Junior ones! I read your crossover story a while back, and it was actually quite good.

Otter: Welcome to the club! Here's your two smoking traps, your copy of Ghostbusting for Dummies, your Peter Venkman Peanut Butter, your…

Oops, wrong spiel

If Otter prefers the idea of being more of an ally and contact that an actual WC Ghostbuster, that's fine with me, but I'll go along with the group. A good supporting cast is always welcome, but so are good teammembers. We may end up just having to create fictional secretaries (and no, they don't necessarily have to hit on me :s . That'd probably be stretching reality too far…)

I don't hate the FGBs. It's just that I like RGB/GB more. I hate crossovers where they have the heroes fight each other. If they are heroes, they should team up and fight against their villains. We could just say my character just happened to have Kong as a last name. Or maybe I could do some research and find a last name of one of the older Disney animators or something. You know, one of the old “magicians” that actually worked with Walt Disney.

Peter, let me clarify:

I did indeed hate the Filmation Ghostbusters cartoon, but then again, I hated all Filmation cartoons for the same reasons: they were badly animated, good actors (Pat Fraley, Jim Cummings, Alan Oppenheimer) were forced to act badly, the plots were repetitive and cliche'd, and worst of all was the Contrived Moral of the Day stuck at the end. Filmation and Hannah-Barbera were at the nexus of what was wrong with American cartoons of the Seventies and Early Eighties. And FGB had the stigma, and a justified one, of “let's make some money off a movie we didn't even have anything to do with”. That's all I want to say on that matter here, because debating FGB isn't the point of this thread.

That being said, I didn't mean give up the idea of being related to Jake Kong. In fact, it's kind of playing in my mind as a possible way to “rescue” the concept. C'mon, you're a teammate now, and that's a big reason those hateful crossovers are staying on my hard drive, as opposed to being posted on my site or GBN.

C'mon…here, have a Coke and a Twinkie…let's all be friends again! :d :s

Hello all.

Speaking of the secretaries, I decided we'll have 12, 2 for me and one for each of you guys.

Yeah, I'm glad otter posted the thought of a supporting characters and glad that he was willing to be one. So otter, its official, welcome aboard. Its going to be great to have you working in a mechanic/information/researcher character in the team.

Well guys, everyday and each post I read I get more and more excited about this project and the success it will have in the ghostbusters community. I'm glad each and every one of you joined. This team is going to be/already is Awesome.

thanks.

From the looks of things, I'd say we've been pretty active openly. I haven't seen too much activity from the other teams.
