Recently I have PMed several mods giving reasons why threads shouldnt be locked and asking why they were locked. Either the thread has been unlocked. Deleted, or unlocked and later deleted. One of these was a post Evil Toaster Locked then Unlocked, and someone deleted it. Im not making this up, or trying to cause trouble.
I am merely stating the truth. And we have all these 16 year olds, newcomers to the community like M. Bison and they dont know what they doing. Regardless of Experience on other boards. Please dont overlook this. Mods need to be aware of the power that they are throwing around on this site. I dont have a problem with people like Jesusfreak or Zack, the dudes that have done it before and know what theyre doing. Just the new trigger happy dudes.

How do you know for sure that it isn't Jesusfreak or Zack or someone like that? I'm not saying it is, just wondering what your basis for making that statement is.

Again, you need to state specific cases. We will handle them on a case by case basis, we can't handle issues when someone complans without proof.

M. Bison hasn't posted (under that name, at least) in a week now. I believe he returned for a few days as Screw the System and caused a goodly bit of trouble before being screwed with great vigor by the system. I have heard rumors that he has returned under a third screen name, though, but I would like to say that if this is true he's doing a good job of acting like a member of the boards, and I have come to like the person that is rumored to be him. I've never really believed in second chances, but in this case he might deserve one (this from the guy that disliked him from day one in Bison Mode).

Hmm, I mentioned Evil toaster deleted a post that I beleive either Milenka, or Nilesq…. made. So ask him. I have an message to him and from him in my account.

Also yeah, theres plenty doing things right. But some need to know that they cant just go locking every post that seems the least bit lockable. There needs to be some discression used. I agree Zack, you and Jesus and Master Spider, at least from what I can tell are doing good.
Im not saying necessarily that the mods are bad cept M. Bison, but they dont really know exactly what they are doing. Some of them just showed up on the boards a few months ago, and it shows.

I've only locked a couple of posts, but they were all repeats of other posts. And when I do lock a post I always state why it is being locked.

And BTW, M. Bison was not Screw the System, for one thing thier IP's didn't match.

Ive said it before, ill say it one more time, I may be new at it, but I have yet to lock a topic. And it angers me to see that someone is accusing me of throwing around my power, in fact, ive acted like a regular member, only making sure to patrol the fic section, just to make sure no one is doing anything bad. I didnt lock the Thread locking post, I have no idea who it is that did. But please stop accusing us “Newbie Mods” of doing things that some of us arent doing. Just because we're new at it doesnt mean we automatically abuse the power. Its an honor to be picked as a mod, and I would never abuse the power. I would only lock something if it broke the rules layed down, not out of personal hatred for a member, or for no reason at all, and if I did/do lock something, i will make sure to give my reason for it, I myself have come online and found that certain posts were locked w/o reason, but not in my section, so i have no control over it, I would unlock them if I could. But the Thread Locking post was locked because it was getting out of hand among everyone that was posting there. Specially with the mention of cutting of heads, I mean, is that really appropriate? :p
