^ That was in Leicester Square this weekend, as my brother has kindly informed me (he's a musical theatre nut) - any idea who owns it?

At first I was thinking it was Milton Homan's, the one that's had a few tours of duty with the U.K. Ghostbusters… but looking at two photos of the car closer… they're not the same!

We have two 1959 Caddilac Ecto-1s here in the UK! (*_*)

Hey there! Just to let people know that the 2nd ECTO 1 that you are discussing in this forum belongs to us at CheersDrive.co.uk. I bought the car about 3 years ago from Maryland and it was a wreck with no roof - theres a few pics on my site I believe.

I had it all put back together and the roof was remade. The roof hasn't quite come out as I wanted and so I know its not quite as ‘egg shaped’ as the original but its not too bad. It was destined for the scrapyard and so I am happy to have rescued it and turned it into something that puts a smile on peoples' faces. Milton at dreamcars actually completed the car for me since it came back from the US in Sept 2009. The roof was redone and the bodywork by a company in the US (hence I didnt have as much control on the bodywork from 3000 miles away). Milton has done a fantastic job making it ECTO 1 and for that I am grateful - although I think I paid for his new house in the process :-).

If anyone ever wants to see it I am based in Bristol and would be happy to show people if they are in the area! As you say there's not too many around.

Hopefully see some of you guys sometime!

Chris, thanks for stopping by. On another fan site the shape of the roof reminded me of a roof-less parade car which was going to the UK to become an Ecto… it's great to see the finished result.

Having met Milton, and had the pleasure of participating on at least two tours of duty with his Car, it's great to hear he was involved with that one.

I'll pass along your post to the folks on the U.K. Ghostbusters forum, the guys there are extremely keen to know more about the “Leceister Square Ecto”.

Chris, I had a look on the cheersdrive website and it amazes me to see how the car started out, and how it ended up - truly great work! Do you get a lot of business in terms of people hiring the cars? It seems like a nice little idea, especially as I cannot imagine there being too many famous car replicas in the UK.

Thanks for the kind words, it took a lot of money and effort to get her as she is - she is nowhere near perfect but I suppose she was never perfect in the film in terms of a pristine 59 Caddy. I will obvioulsy be adding to her and refining as time goes on. I have only had her on the road properly for hire for a short time (weeks) and she has been quite busy indeed! Its a part time thing for me and one day I will look to sell her on as I have a lot of money tied up that I'd like to get back out to do other things with.

Best Regards

Chris
