Ok, first off, I never said anything about trapping a single thing in that movie. Never once, ever. And you're right, I never read the books, and frankly I don't give a damn. I was solely speaking of the firepower and damage it could do. If a wraith (or Nazgul as you call it) came to me, and a sword can do damage to it, think of what a proton pack could do?
