This topic is being kept around, but has been locked and retitled so it can act as an example of how not to act on here if you've said you've met one of the actors from Ghostbusters or Ghostbusters II and the legitimacy of that claim is questioned. We have had people claim they've met, or even been related to one of the film actors/actresses in the past and their claim turn out to be false, so please bear with us. Photographic proof will go a long way to eradicating any doubt.

Hello everybody, I'm new on the boards here, but I just thought I'd let everyone know that I met & spoke with Ray Stanz himself today, and he told me that Ghostbusters 3 is currently in production. It's going to be fully animated, and will have all the original cast. I'm not sure this if this is old news or not, but, just thought I'd share.

Bear with me ask I ask these, but are you sure he wasn't talking about the game? It's just in a recent interview he seemed more positive about the game happening then a third Ghostbusters movie ever materialising.

I'd assume he'd spell the man's name right if he just met him…. (;_

You sure you spoke with him and he gave you this information? (Its a video game and it's GB3 in all practical purposes)

Also in his interview with Game Informer Mag, Dan stated that he has started telling people that the video game IS Ghostbusters III.

Indeed, between the spelling of his name, the fact he's been saying the game is Ghostbusters III I'm afraid to say we're all skeptical, PositronCollider. We usually don't believe anyone straight off if they say “I spoke with Dan Ackroyd today….” because so many people in the past have claimed to have talked to the actors and gotten a ‘scoop’.

Wow, I just gotta say, you guys are a bunch of assholes. Why do you make it so hard for someone new to be part of a discussion here? Sorry, your majestys for the misspelling, but I am telling you I spoke with Mr. AYKROYD yesterday, and he told me that Ghostbusters III will be a separate entity than the game, and that it will be entirely animated. If you don't want to believe me, then don't, but you don't have to be such pricks about it.

Whoa whoa whoa there. You're new so of course we're going to doubt you. Do you realize how many people come on here and say THE EXACT SAME THING for attention. Don't go around to members that have been around for much much longer than yourself and start throwing out obsenities on here. Sure you may have talked to him, great, but i'm sure there would be an annoucement about the movie being made, especially after the reaction the game got. So go sit in a corner and think about what you did.

Well, listen, if all you guys wanna treat this like some sort of Frat house, and treat new people like shit, just because they're new, go right ahead. But, with this game announcement, there is going to be a lot more interest back in the Ghostbusters, and if you want to alienate and discourage new fans from trying to participate in the fanbase, just because you people have been around longer, that's a problem with YOU not me.

It's called “Common Sense” to be skeptical, especially when somebody we don't know says they talked to one of the actors, and the thing they said is different to the information we've read in recent interviews.

We had one person claim a few years back, that Bill Murray was their Uncle.

Would you please get off of your high horse, this isn't about you being new and us being the ‘old’ members… panshater said as much in his previous post, it's about the validity of the claim and that we're natrally skeptical because people have made claims about the actors saying things before in the past…
