I hope it´s a good album, I lost the faith on them after the Black album, and St. Anger was the worst “metal” album ever.

Metallica held a listening session for the new album in London, where members of the press listened to six of the album’s ten tracks. The previews for the album sound positive. Metallica sound like they are returning to their roots with this album.

This is from the Kerrang preview:
Metallica held a very special listening session for the forthcoming, as-yet-untitled ninth album last week in London, where members of the press were treated to six of the album’s ten tracks. K! was there and we’re happy to report it RULES!

I'm looking forward to hearing the new album.

“OMG dey sold out and cut there haire!”

I think St Anger had a lot of cool stuff as well as some stuff that wasn't too great. The poor sound did overshadow anything that was good I think. I know they were going for the raw jamming sound but some moments of drums and Hetfield's off key wailing are a bit much at times. I think even I remember them looking back on it, it was something they felt they had to do at the time. Of all the things they've done on their own terms, I think it was the worst. S&M, Garage Inc and all the other “sellout” things people said they did yielded better results I think.

Most peoples problems with Load and Reload are usually they're not really metal. As in it doesn't sound like their other stuff. I think it is however very much them. They took a little different direction and there were PLENTY of great and successful songs on those albums, in my opinion. There are admittedly a few songs I don't care for but if you give some of those songs a chance, they're the same Metallica quality, just a different hard rock/bluesy style/sound. Some people aren't into it so to each his own.

Those are my thoughts though. I probably shouldn't post too much more as I love Metallica and usually will defend to the death most everything they do and their right as musicians/human beings to do whatever the hell they want without people wanting to put limits or boundaries on what they think it's acceptable for them to do. Okay I'm ranting. :p

Oh yeah, on topic, looking forward to hearing it :-)

Today on July 14th, It was revealed that you will be able to download the entire Death Magnetic album for Guitar Hero III when the album is released! It is also stated that it will be available for Guitar Hero World Tour when it comes out in the Fall.
Check it out at metallica.com:

The Game Magnetic (Death for Guitar Hero)
7/14/2008

“Death Magnetic,” the entire album, available for Guitar Hero too!

It's a first in both music and gaming . . . the same day that “Death Magnetic” hits the streets, you'll be able to download every song from the album for “Guitar Hero III!” We are so psyched that we'll be the first out of the gate with this simultaneous release . . . who knows, maybe a few years from now this will be the norm when your favorite band's new record comes out.

And for those of you who are anxiously awaiting the next Guitar Hero, “World Tour,” we're ready for that too . . . you will be able to experience “Death Magnetic” for drums, vocals, and guitar when that game emerges this Fall.

Keep watching here for the where, when, and how stuff . . .

It has been revealed that there will be a special edition box set for the new album and it's going to be in a coffin shaped box, but it will only be available through www.metallica.com , www.metclub.com , and www.missionmetallica.com .

This is from Metallica.com:
The Box Magnetic (Death in a Coffin)
7/9/2008

For you collector types out there we just had to put together something next level when the new record comes out in the Fall . . . how about “Death Magnetic” in a coffin box? The special edition box will come out the same day the album does (we'll tell you when that is soon . . . very soon) and will of course include the full CD (duh!), along with everything next level cool relating to “Death Magnetic!” Seriously, there will be a CD with the demos of the songs, a DVD of even more “making of the album” footage not seen on Mission: Metallica, a t-shirt only available in this box, a flag, guitar picks, and a fold out poster along with a collector's credit card embossed with a code to redeem a free download of a special European show happening in September (yes, details coming soon!).

We're in the process of wrapping up the artwork now, so we'll be sure to have some things to show soon. The coffin box will only be available through www.metallica.com, www.metclub.com, and www.missionmetallica.com and we'll keep you posted here as to when that will be (soon!) . . . not all countries will be available at the same time, so keep watching.

As usual, more to come . . . (soon!)
