I watched that clip and I am very sad and disappointed about this. What had posessed Kramer to say that? Now I've lost my respect for him. :@ (*ray)

Now, I'm not a racist, but I think that Richards had taken enough, and when he snapped it was by sheer concidence that is was an african american. I'll bet had it been anyone else said that, richards would have gone off on whatever person had said that, race not involved.

Not to defend Richards, but I think people are kind of over-reacting, and jumping to conclusions here (like in Mel Gibson's case). Watching the video, it seems more like a case of a bad stand-up routine gone worse. Its like he was trying to be all controversial, and politically incorrect, and ‘shocking’, but then he got pissed off at a couple people, and it went totally overboard and he fumbled big time. He was trying to articulate real anger by using cheap, over-the-top tactics (the “N” word), AND trying to maintain his big ego in front of his audience. It's was just a bad situation, he mis-handled himself in the heat of a moment, lost his mojo, and everything backfired. That's my take. That's not to say he isn't a bigot mind you, but people have to seperate performance art from reality. In stand-up especially people tread a VERY fine line, and it's really easy to confuse/misinterperet things. Maybe he's a racist, maybe not. The point is, you can't make a conclusion based solely on this.

Also, I find it funny that people get their panties in a twist about this, when talentless hacks like Carlos Mencia make far worse remarks about ethnic/social groups on a regular basis on television shows which should have been cancelled two seasons ago. …Whatever though. I don't think Mencia is racist either. Just another tool… I think if the media is going to emotionally rape and defile a person for a “bigoted” comment, they should do it to someone who actually deserves it.

I don't want want to watch it, as it would no doubt make me look at him with a different perspective as we still watch seinfeld on a regular basis. I don't know if it would taint it.

It's sad when a man has to resort to another's skin colour as a weapon.

Michael isn't a comedian he is an improv-actor, a born and bred actor. He hasn't made a career out of going to comedy clubs and getting heckled and accepting it as part of a routine.

lol

I thought some eps were okey… It's better than some of those cbs shows. they got on now. As for that actor… my comment for his behavior was really out of line. I never really liked him to begin with.

Thats actually not as bad as I was expecting it to be. But It still doesnt make it right.

I think it's just a case of him getting heckled, and not having a good comeback, so resorted to race. It's just a sign that he's a bad comedian really.

It's too bad that he said it but he said it. I think what's interesting though is that Mel Gibson caught WAY more flack for it and yet his was the result of being drunk where as Richards was just angry. I guess both can be considered under the influence

Mencia (who I find funny, BTW) won't get shit ‘cause he’s a minority. Haven't you learned yet? In America, you can be as racist as you want AS LONG AS YOU'RE NOT WHITE. The second “whitey” jumps on the band wagon, it's a federal case. Why any form of racism is allowed, I have no idea.
