Motherboard and REAL parts question

OK, as you all know by now I'm making my pack starting in about a month. I've been reading up everywhere I can for hints and tips for building it, and I'm not sure what to do when it comes to precutting my motherbaord. I've read/seen it done both ways. One site says that you should NOT cut the board out until you've made all the other parts to match it up with. Other people have cut it out first and have been just fine; what do you suggest?
Second where can I find the list of REAL parts and where to get them? (such as the different types of resistors, brass fittings, etc). I know about the parts page, but I want the real deal, not resin casts. I already planned on using the page to order my ribbon cable and a few other things, but I need to know where to look for the other hardware. Any help will be much appriciated.

Mobo: Cut it last! People who tell you otherwise are crazy.. or perfectionists.

Parts: You'll have to wait until GBProps.com comes out. I have a section with them all.
