You will find problems with just about anything.
Well, I've yet to find a problem with Netsolo's board.Chad
The fact is, NOBODY has locked or deleted posts in over 2 months, yet you still complain.
Because you only stopped locking posts demanding that you unban myself and PC, AFTER we were unbanned. You only stopped locking posts that dealt with the community being happier without you, after you were firmly in charge. Do you see the pattern, or need I go on. I'm sure the next time someone new figures out what's going on, you'll start locking away.Chad
I really think the majority of people who visit here are sick of your whining.
The majority of people here have no idea what is going on.Chad
You whine that you are unable to speak your mind, yet all your posts are intact.
Outright lie.Chad
How many of these do you have to write before you feel like you have accomplished something?
Until I have accomplished the goal that most of the hardcore community is going for. Do you not realize how many members from this place email people like Bo and I daily to say how much they're afraid of what will happen to them if they speak out?Chad
Maybe that is the problem, try accomplishing something to truly effect change.
That's what I did with GBComm. Of course, in the last two weeks you've done everything you possibly can to make this board more like GBComm, so people won't need to go there. Really, that's what you've been doing for years: Emulating sites so that people will only go to your more convienient, although inferior, version.Chad
Perhaps you should actually practice what you preach. Visit GBHQ more frequently and save your posts here for GB-related or Fan Project-related events that would actually change something. Or you could just use the time you used to spend here and spend it at GBHQ.
First off, I post far more at GBHQ than I do here. Second, that statement clearly says unless it's posted here, GB related things and Fan Projects don't matter, to quote Bo.
And this:Chad
If you read that sentence in context with the others, you would know that “put power towards positive change” was the main idea. Something that is sorely missed.
This is just untrue. Look at all the positive change that had occurred in the two weeks you were gone, and tell us honestly that you didn't undo it all.
Go ahead Chad, lie to the people. Tell them that your coming back is what saved them. Tell them the community would have ended if hadn't come back.
What you won't tell them, is that if you had left the community alone like you promised, we would not be divided into two different encampments. You won't tell them what all us longtime members know:
If this place had been shutdown, we'd have gone to GBHQ. Or we'd have gone to ASAP. Or Nightsquad. Or the Ghostbusters Community Board. There are many longtime members who would have picked up the ball, and gotten it rolling.
It's incredibly crystal clear that Brian doesn't think too highly of me and that he still feels that he can't say something he wants, even though he really can. If you hate me, please send me hate mail.
I've tried just about everything to appease you. If you beleive so strongly that GBHQ and GBComm is the future of this community, then you should be hard at work posting at GBHQ and hard at work developing GBComm further. Coming here and telling me that you don't like me isn't going to change anything.
You are obsessing over my leaving and then coming back like a religious fanatic. Furthermore, it has nothing to do with Ghostbusters; the main reason we should all be here in the first place. It should also be the real reason you are posting over at GBHQ, not that you don't like me and you want to make a big name for yourself and your website.
I think parts of the community have really forgot why we are here in the first place and it has lead to the largest online soap opera i have ever encountered.
I will, like a broken record, attempt to realign your perspective to reality again. I have accomplished many things in my life, the least of it having anything to do with GBN or the community. Don't get me wrong, I love the community and I am still very proud of what GBN stood for. The fact is, I have other things in my life and Ghostbusters is a hobby to me. Of course, I plan and build things for the community. People are happy, some are upset because they think there is a large conspiracy for me to “take over the community” or whatever. What good would that bring me? The fact is, it couldn't be further from the truth. I leave, and have left at times, not because I don't care about GB at all, because I have a life and there are other pressing matters to attend to. The fact that I do come back time and time again for the community should be a testiment that I truly care for and love this film and community. My dedication has never faltered in the longrun. Many people who subscribe to the “he's taking over the community” mentatility are the ones who think they can “catch up” while I'm gone, and everytime I come back, they meet me with anger and fights ensue.
Regardless, I have learned from my patterns which is why, as of Monday September 15th, the support groups (Paranormal Professors, GB Gurus, The Misc. Guys, and the Fan Project Consultants) will be running the show completely. They will be in charge of establishing board rules adopted from the main two global rules: (Stay on Topic, Politics Threads get moved to the Board Talk Forum, and Ignore Trouble Makers).
I will remain here as an active member of the community in an Administrative role. I will be making upgrades to the Message Board, helping mods with problems, and finding other ways to help promote events and websites within the community. Therefore, I can go on with my life and the community can continue to flourish. At the same time, I can help out and contribute the way I have been in the past and together we can make this place a great place.
Notice that the GB Message board is not tied to any one website. It will never be tied to a particular website because this board is truly run by the community, for the community. It is here to promote websites and events and is the meeting ground for webmasters to share their latest fan project and news scoop.
That said, any future plans for GBN are totally independent of this forum and will remain so. GBN will not have a message board. It will also be vastly different than anything it or any other GB site has ever been before and it will carry the same model and spirit of the current implementation of the GBMB: Inclusion. There will be a large amount of staff roles, and there will be an infinate number of roles where YOU make the site. I look forward to bringing this to you, especially after all the things I have learned along the way. Again, my leaving the community for a day, week, or month will not have any effect as I have learned from design flaws; both technical and psychological.
The 20th anniversary is going to be great, no doubt. We have two ways to go into it. We can go into it as hardcore fans, doing everything we can to help each other and, in return helping the franchise by promoting it as a positive group of people who love Ghostbusters. Or we could continue publically arguing each other, but in hopes of what? Others will come to the web and see how nasty and foul Ghostbusters fans are? Nobody is going to want to share memories of one of their favorite films with a bunch of people who hate each other.
Simply said, there is sadly a party line drawn in the GB Community. I welcome all individuals here. I only want them to treat others how you would like to be treated. If you cannot do that, please post elsewhere as it would promote positivity as a whole and it would help contribute to other boards. You have many choices when it comes to discussing Ghostbusters, there is no need to come here and ruin it for others.
The community is “fixed”, let it heal.
