Where did you hear that Ghostbusters was rated PG-13? That's not true. It came out before they even established the rating of PG-13. Its always been PG.

PG-13 wasn't even established until almost 1 month after Ghostbusers was released.

And no, GB3 should not be rated R. That would be an insanely awful idea. It does not need to be rated R. That's not the style of humor that Ghostbusters is, and the ”horror" aspects of Ghostbusters will never cross into that grotesque and severe.

Not putting you down, just saying I don't think its a good idea. Its not Ghostbusters style to be violent or grotesque to the point of needing an R rating. And I might understand more if you explained your story idea. I would tend to think that any story could be altered so that it would get a lower rating, since Ghostbusters doesn't need F words or anything like that.

Since you seem a little sensitive about the idea, I'm not going to post my full true thoughts about this. I'll just say this is not at all a Ghostbusters plotline, and that its a pretty sick plotline in general.

Regardless, the rape aspect is not necessary, and definitely does not fit with Ghostbusters.

I see nothing funny about date raping women… that is truly an awful idea for anything ghostbusters related.
