The prettiest looking comic ever drawn can fail miserably because of poor writing or character development, but I guess you all already knew that.

Well come on Doc! You can't forget EGB's “But Kylie and Roland are dead” and “Maybe he's dead” remarks, they were funny one liners, with the exception that they werent funny…

Hey I liked the “Mabey hes dead” line (Well the first few times)

And why not have Egon smile ever. Sure he was serious but he did smile.

spooky- it was kind of a joke in the first film that egon never smiled, it was part of his personality. that is one thing that bugged me about the second film, he was more normal.

Hey, I can recall two times off the bat where Egon was smiling in the first film. One is at the end of the movie when Janine runs over to him. (Hee hee…)

The other is when he was talking about Shandor performing “a lot of unnecessary surgery.” Makes me kind of wonder about that man…

I agree. It doesnt matter if the writers onboard for this project are terrific writers (well, sort of but, im not done with my speech ), it matters whether they know their ghostbusters. If just a great writer who wasnt a fan of the films or cartoon series, he will remember peter as the only one that made the jokes and one liners and he will base the stories along those lines. Peter was the funniest but the others had some really good lines aswell and we should see everyone getting their little one-liner moment, except you'll have to work with egon's facial features and when he gets excited and what its for (i.e. the shandor building, blood, guts, and so on). Though, I still think Peter should be the most outspoken and funniest because thats what he was in the movies. So the writers have to have two qualifications really, 1)know their gbs and 2)be a good writer

Obviously the comic needs good writing, but part of what made the movie so great was the timing and delivery of the lines. Can that be translated to text? Well, only the reader can provide that.

And on a side not, I liked EGB.
