My Gamestop Is A Total Ripoff

I went in today to ask if my shirt came yet from the pre-order and they told me that they wouldn't get it till the game comes. Then I asked if it was gonna be available on Tuesday and they told me that they aren't getting the game in till ****ing Wednesday! That's a damn ripoff, alot of other people on Ghostbuster sites have said to have gotten shirts already. I mean WTF, I paid good money for the pre-order and I want my damn game when it comes out!

Calm down. There are apparently a LOT of Gamestops getting it on the 17th as opposed to the 16th. When I first heard about this (from Doctor Venkman when he posted about it) I was surprised but since then I have been finding out that it's apparently common. All 6 of my Gamestops are now quoting that they are getting their games on the 17th and that preorders can be picked up then.

I think I totally misunderstood your post. Not all ‘stops get the same amount of stuff or at the same time as others…promotional swag with pre-orders included in that. Maybe your ’stop doesn't have enough to go around so they are not letting people get them early.

I am sorry for those who have to wait til the 17th, just remember Patience is a virtue.

But in my opinion it sounds like ya MAY have 2 options,

either wait and get the pre order bonus from gamestop or look around at other stores possibly find it and have it on release day just minus the bonus.

Hope I dont sound like an A-Hole but the gamestop in my area will have it on tuesday because they let me hold and look at the sealed game today.

yea, you have to know that all stores are different. i work in retail and i get that all the time from customers.


PS- some Gamestop stores really suck. 85% of the time i went into a Gamestop, the employess were real idiots. But i sure do love to abuse their used game policy to plays games for free hahahahahah!!!!!

Ah shit i need to call my gamestop tomorrow then i guess, to make sure.

Also i preordered it way back when it was supposed to be released in October, i wonder if that still counts.

eh I can wait 1 freaking day. lol. But my Eb Games did say they are getting it on the 16th.. so here's to the 16th!

Since it's street dated for the 16th, all stores should be receiving it or have received it by that date.

Possibilities:

1. More GameStops than expected are doing midnight launches and excess games are being funneled there, making second shipment destined for other stores (unlikely).

2. Whomever you asked had no idea what the answer really was and either made something up or was relaying information a co-worker made up (likely).

3. They don't have it YET and the employee doesn't know how to look up incoming shipments and so is covering his butt in case it doesn't come in ON the 16th (also likely).

Don't panic. Hopefully, this will help if you go back for a follow up.

More than likely, he is feeding you a line of bull so you don't pester him about getting it before street date. I live out in Alabama, far away from a distribution center, and I know my Gamestop has copies in the back. So it is prolly there by now and they will have your copy on the 16th. If not, just hop on down to Walmart and pick up a copy, I know they will have one for you. Then hop online and find whatever code it is so you can download the suit. It will more than likely be a general code.

Uuuuuh…no…it is not gonna be a general code. Codes that go along with a pre-order are ALWAYS redeemable codes which means they could only be used once. If it was a general code then that defeats the whole exclusive thing now wouldnt it…C'mon dude…think…
