Heh heh…yeah I'm a girl. My name actually Mallory Michael *insert last name*. I love my middle name - I feed on the ambiguity of my gender when I'm online. But I assure you, I'm a chick.

(finishes reading Mallory-Mike's ideas)

Wow. I think my Ghostbusters III script was just put to shame.

Right, well, the main thing I'm debating over, is whether or not to reveal one rather crucial bit to the plot of the story…if I do, it means you guys know what I'm talking about, only downside however, it spoils the villain's entrance.

On a more easier note, I'm taking a little note from a lot of GBIII ideas.

The Ghostbusters as we know them are still employed by the company, however, as it is now moving into the late 90s, early 2000 era, they no longer work as grunts, there is a team who handle it…however, I'm not giving them centre stage, they will make appearances, but are not (At least not yet) major characters. Equipment is pretty much the same, and Peter and Dana are seeing each other (Oscar is also somewhat important to the plot).

FInally…and yes, Janine and Louis will not be dating…however, I'm gonna see if I can take the Janine and Egon angle in a slightly different direction then seen in RGB.

I can't promise that GB: City that Never Sleeps will be finished in a few months, but I'm gonna try get it finished as soon as I can. With that said, once I've got the opening written, I'll post it here, though it will be more in the form of a fanfic then a script…as I kinda prefer the ability to jot down as much detail I like and put it into past tense.

Speaking of fanfics, I prefer scripts to be in traditional story format intially. I find it easier to read; the story flows better for the reader. In a script format, the reader has to stop and start & pause to read the emotions in parenthesis, etc. Scripts are for an out of your head, visual experience while straight story-telling seems more for an in your head, visualize it yourself experience.

I think what you're talking about is a treatment, because a script has to be in a certain format, there are specific rules to a script, if you don't follow them, some studios just won't read them, as well as just being proffessional. What you're talking about is more of a short-story.

Although scripts are a little more difficult to read than a straight story or treatment I find them alot easier to write. I'm right now half way through the 68th page of my Ghostbusters 3 script.

Am I the only one that absolutley despises Microsoft Word? Bloody hell, it is so frusterating. I wish I could afford to buy some actual script-writing software.

I started making a Word Doc as a template, with all the script formatting set in the styles menu - I hadn't progressed to the point of figuring out the hotkeys for them though. Once I get that sorted, that's the only hurdle to having something similar to the script apps out there…

Because as much as I hate Microsoft Word, I can't believe the prices they charge for script writing apps. I'll take MSW, a wall of sticky notes, and a pad of paper over a $600 glorified word processor, anyday.

trying to bust into the screenwriting biz, castewar? i agree… the script software is WAY overpriced….
