LOL, no, not trying to break into screenwriting. But my job does require scripts for actors to read, so using the standard format has it's uses.

I went here (http://www.bbc.co.uk/writersroom/scriptsmart/downloads.shtml) to download a script template for Microsoft Word. For free.

Wow. I owe you one, Mallory-Mike. Formating my scripts by hand was such a headache. Thanks again.

I love the ideas keep them flowin'
cause when shit happens nobody wants to deal with it who ya gonna call!
ghostbusters that's who.
you could add the fact that gozar and vigo team up and leave hell to seek revenge on th original four. (*egon) (^_^) :-)

Vladimir
you could add the fact that gozar and vigo team up and leave hell to seek revenge on th original four.

The second film already had too much of the first, and there's no way Vigo and Gozer would be able to team up, much less work together…

I wouldn't want to see a third film be a rehash of the previous ones or rehase the previous villians, it'd be unoriginal and in some ways a little boring.

If Ghostbusters III is to be successfull I think that it must have the tone of the first movie, the very best SFX in the business and above all a very well written and original script.

I think that any sequel, no matter what the francise, should go in a new direction while keeping the ingredients fans recognise and love for the francise in question. Otherwise the movie is predictable and uninteresting. It is very easy to repeat yourself which is of course unfortunately what happens so often in Hollywood. This is of course exactly what happened with Ghostbusters II, which I think did more harm than good to the francise.

However, I do understand the difficulty in writing a good sequel to Ghostbusters because there is only so much you can do with it. What I mean by that is that script ideas are far more limited when comparing writing a script for, lets say a new James Bond picture because with James Bond the sky is the limit with story, characters, locations etc but at the same time, as I said before, each one of those films has those recognisable ingredients that you would associate with a Bond movie.

Personally I wouldn't mind if Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis gave the script writing job to someone else as long as it turns out to be well written and original.

That's a challenge of sequels. Is it possible to deliver the familairity of established characters & yet develop them further, while moving an original story forward.
It's a challenge to be fresh yet deliver the familair.

Ok, I am new to this, but I wanted to say that I thought MM's idea was great, and venkman person was just expressing his/her ideas. of what they thought would be a great sequal. Although rather harsh at times, I would say the best way to learn is from critizism (sp lol). Which MM expressed, that she found interesting, and wasn't offended by it, as I read the posts. But everyone will be thinking that it was too much, it was just one person's idea. So people shouldn't be jumping down each other's throats. I am sure I would be the exact same way but as he/she said it's just her opinion, and everyone is intitled to their opinion.
