I don't know how you can't see this as being cannon when, it is. It's the 3rd chapter in the Ghostbusters saga. If a 3rd film does end up being made then i'd bet there may well be some kind of remark or comment refering to events of the game.

…Seriously whats up with that anal attitude? I mean he wrote down his views, and that is it. When did Ghostbusters become Proper English writing 101? Nothing personal but you need to think about the factor that this is the internet, not a essay class.

He's just making a point about the importance of conveying the right argument in a post.

Ackroyd created the concept, he thinks of the game as the third film.
Ultimate say right there. The game is most certainly canon.
You're just a fan so sit back and take it.

As Kingpin said, it doesn't need to be an essay class… I'm making the point that the guy needs to think about what he's writing because he's making the point opposite of what the rest of his post leads him to believe. Its not being anal, its being corrective. There is a difference.

And the attitude towards him is directly linked to his attitude towards me. He can't have a thought out discussion without being insulting. Just because I disagreed with his points he resorted to childish insults for no reason. Its pretty clear that he just wants to bash the video game anyway, and that he has no real basis. Go read his points about it in his thread, towards the end he doesn't even make sense anymore, and just bashes the video game with no actual points being made.

Look fellas, I just want to throw in my two cents.

Ghostbusters 1 is a hard act to follow. It was completely original and probably one of the greatest movies of all time. We all can agree that.

Down the road it is still an awesome movie. How can you expect a sequel to top it the original without it rehashing something to bring back the nostalgia? The same problem goes with anything that is a sequel or even part of a genre, like FPSs. Many say “so and so game brings nothing new to the table,” but they don't understand something.

The Ghostbusters game cannot go too far into the distance otherwise they lose what makes Ghostbusters soul. If you change the story, then bad things occur and you really will hate it. Like Doctor Venkman said you have to bring some nostalgia back into the mix and keep it in the ballpark while evolving the story which is not an easy thing to do.

It's like trying to look left and right at the same time.
