Yay, it's looking like something! :p That suckers gonna have some weight you can tell already, not too unbearable or unusual for a prop like that though. Maybe not too fun for extended periods of time but its one of those suck it up things!

The caution stripe is on the other side but it was just a test piece to see if we wanted to try a wider stripe. We'll see. The white power box is also on the smaller tank! It feels awesome to strap that thing on!

It was basically trying to make sure everything is really secure while trying not to take too much away from the look of it. I figure it was really hard to see exactly what they looked like behind the back in the movie anyway and you'll be wearing it most of the time! The added aluminum bar will keep the tanks together too.

yay, got the left side done with my dad minus the heat sink and the leather bit or whatever on the side. The holes came out pretty good, the right side box came out a little better. That's the extent of my drilling skills The ones in the movie honestly don't look that great either so I think it'll be alright. Not too noticeable. Got the stuff to finish the other side including finishing the power cell, gotta mount it. Then the NO HANDLE, headrest and connecting the hoses and labels and such. The caution tape is NOT permanent and was just a test piece.

I think it's gonna end up being a little over 20 lbs, maybe a little more with the gun. Nowhere near unbearable.

Thanks! Yeah, not too unusual for something like that though I guess. Especially seeing on gbfans now people saying their all wood proton packs clock in at 30-45 lbs!!! Seems the movie blowers were likely a bit heavy as well. Especially the clank when they take it off Ray at the end. That's probably the nature of a backpack with a lot of crap on it.

It actually feels good to put it on and the 20 some odd pounds disappear. If Dan and Ernie can do it, that's good enough for me :p It does look bad but it's really not. Probably the more annoying thing will be if I try to fit through a regular size doorway! :-)

My paper proton pack probably doesn't even weigh a pound lol. But I know the feeling of taking weight off my back as the all the crap in my back pack shows me everyday lol.

Everything minus the power cell and little stuff is finished and good to go! Will probably get some detailed pics once everything is done. Headrest, labels, NO HANDLE letters. Probably try to do that leather bit on the disharge. I guess that's what it's purpose was in the movie, to give that side something to look at other than the box. :whatever: Pics in full gear of course too. The hoses can easily be attached/detached from the pack. I'll get some pics of that too. Where they tighten on to where they're snug and unless you're takin' em off, they're not goin anywhere.
