Need proton stream FX for my webshow

Howdy gents,
I know I very rarely post on here…but I am in need of help. For my webshow VGSpoofs….( www.vgspoofs.com ) Season 2 will have a few ghostbusters scenes…one will need the stream effect and possibly the trap effect. Is there anyone here who could help me or point me in the right direction? This could lead to other visual FX work and we are willing to pay.

I did on my own with After Effects. If you have the program, I can give tips on how to go about doing it.

Devil, that would be great, I have all the programs, but I need advice on how to do it. The deadline has passed for when I needed my FX though. But any further advice would be wonderful.

This has a file for after effects that has what i did at one point.

The major effect I use:

Its not the only way to do it. I'm sure there are other ways. However this is how I did it.
