Hey guys, this is my first post here so bear with me a bit. Im not a GB pro.

So, my 5 year old (6 next month) is totally into Ghostbusters. He's got the video game, both the movies, and love to jump on me and tell me Ive been slimed. Of course he wants to be a ghostbuster for halloween which is an awesome choice since i was once a ghostbuster myself. My dad made me a proton pack out of cardboard and allthough it was not at all prototypical it was prety darn good considering it cost him near nothing and looked good. BUT, now i need to blow him out of the water!

Pretty much im looking into any advice i can get for making a 6 year old a pack. Some things i already know is that its not going to be to scale, and will probally a little shorter than id like, but hey he's a little kid. It will also need to be lightweight, limiting my use of wood and metal. I also do not want to do TOO much fabrication.. Ill be looking in stores for parts that look similar to what i need to use.

One thing that i would really like to incorporate is light and sounds. I think i have the light situation under control with some products ive found on ebay, but im looking for a cheap way to get just the start up sound and proton stream sound. Can anyone help me out with this? Lets face it, lights and sound is the difference between his friends at school thinking its cool, and having the teachers talking about it!

So, ive seen many of you have made some really awesome packs here and im looking for some advice… what can you tell me?

This is something i was messing around with today. Just a rough scrap template i cut out super fast just to get an idea of part sizing and fitment. I also found these electrical boxes that with a little modification I should be able to get it looking close enough to the original. What do you all think?

Lights and sound on the cheap, eh?

Hmmm…

There's a website called www.qkits.com that sells little sound recorder chips and amplifiers with 20-second capacity; I had planned to use one on a Ghost Dematerializer prop replica that never materialized.
