The reason he is selling for $30 im guessing is becuase you cant order it off of amazon.co.uk for any less. If you order from a canadian or US credit card it ends up being this much or more. 9 dollars + shipping converted to US, plus any up fees your CC company may charge as it is an out of country purchase, or even if they don' it ends up being that much. Pounds are worth like double US and even more CAD. I am guessing the seller just doen't want to go broke.

I ordered the book from amazon and it ended up being around 32. Just trying to let everyone know it really isn't a scam or a rip.

I find it rather amusing that you're so interested in this Ebay “scam”, and how this affects 88mph, well, if the HC was printed and in the hands of the owners, this situation wouldn't be getting any attention…at least we now know, that the HC isn't printed yet (surprise) and seems like it won't be anytime soon, I wonder why all of the sudden you feel the urge to “communicate” to your “customers” so that they don't fall for this scam, but on the other hand, we fell for yours, and you don't seem to mind about it.

At least the bidders will have something to show for their money(albeit more). Some version of the book. Being able to read the book. Something tangible in their hands. I forget how much I payed for the HC(was it 30 something?) and have nothing to show for it a few years later. I guess it was somewhat made to seem like it was the hardcover, even though it said Trade Paperback and SOFTCOVER. They all said the condition looks brand new. Eh, I say more power to whoever is selling them even though its a little much. (*winston) Anyway, good to know for people who want to know what they're bidding on or want to buy it cheaper at amazon.co.uk.

Hopefully no one bid thinking it was the hardcover. I don't imagine anyone other than ghostheads would be interested in it and if the hardcover became available, surely everyone would have heard about it and people would have posted on one of the forums about hardcovers showing up at their doors which is clearly not yet the case. (*ray) kinda wish I could go back in time and just order that.

Interesting also that they let Sebastian post from jail, because that's where he told us he'd be if the HC wasn't printed by the end of last year. Or was that a lie?

Sebastien was concerned because it looked like someone was selling copies of the 88MPH book that hadn't yet been published. He was actually looking out for people here, making sure they weren't ripped off.

The email allert uses a list for anyone who signed up to the updates… and presumably the message board, it'd be fairly easy to click a few buttons and email a large group of people. I'll send Sebastien a PM if he doesn't stop by this topic again.



Presumably if he isn't in jail, he convinced Sony to give him an extension of some sort.
