Hm, I wonder why it's taking so long for the other retailers to ship.

I have seen various retailers have release dates in the UK and USA from November, December & January, seems weird unless they are still manufacturing them. Some retailers who deal with Hot Wheels probably get the first initial batch while others have to wait for later batches.

The 1/43 scale is now quoted for release in the UK as 03 February 2012 and the 1/18 scale as 20 January 2012, that's if they don't delay it again.

I just don't get what the constant delay is, there are plenty of 1/43 scale still up on eBay.

This is getting rediculous, I bought both sizes from Play.com back in November and they'd already had a good amount of production time, what's the sodding holdup?

I've now cancelled my 1/43 scale order from Play.com and bought one from eBay for £43 delivered. I still have my 1/18 scale ordered with Play.com for the time being.

This is indeed getting ridiculous. How come a large supplier like play.com can't deliver while other never-knew-they-existed retailers are selling on eBay?

It's not Play.com, it's Hotwheels that the problem lies with, as far as I'm aware nobody in the community actually owns either versions of the car yet, with the majority of the eBay auctions showing the stock photos, rather than images taken by the auction lister.

I know someone who ordered from eBay and have there ecto-1 in hand had it a couple of weeks ago.
They ordered it on the 17th November and 2 days later they got it.

This is the route I am going down now, while Play.com are asking £54.99 for the 1/43 and I had it ordered at around £48 with discount codes I am now getting it from eBay for £43 and they are marking the goods low and declaring it as a gift so no customs either.

Lucky bastard, whoever that is. I looked at a few of those auction listings, but everyone offering the car for anywhere near decent appeared to have a lot of negative feedback concerning broken model cars arriving through the post… so I think I'll stick with Play.com for now.

I ordered from someone with over 4000 feedback at 99.2% and the item was shipped yesterday, will post pics and give a full report when it arrives.
