Well I was just having another look online to see what the cheapest prices in the UK are and at the moment Play.com have both models listed the cheapest.

1/18th Ghostbusters Ecto-1 Classic Diecast Van - £129.99 Free delivery
Wow! That's expensive. The 1:18 model is €115 overhere which roughly equals £100. Can't imagine the shipping is worth £30

We also have to pay £8 to Royal Mail for Customs handling charge and 20% VAT on the product which will be about £20, so another £28 on top of the shipping cost.

What do you mean? There are no extra shipping costs at play.com and afaik items are shipped from within the UK.
Or do you mean when you'd order it from abroad?

By the way, this is the lowest US pre-order price I've come across: http://www.policecarmodels.com/hotwhel1ghbu.html

I thought you was saying to order it from the USA like from BBTS who had it for around $100, personally I am going to get it from either Amazon UK or Play.com, Amazon usually stock what Play have so will be keeping an eye on them to see when it turns up and for how much.

Yeah, I'll probably gonna order it in my own country as well. Although I could save quite some money ordering it from the US, I hate to think about the costs for returning it when I'd receive a damaged one.

I just noticed on the Wonderland Models website they have the following message:

This item will be available in 30 days on Fri 14th October 2011

Now seeing that most sites have a release date varying from Novermber - January do you think they are getting some early stock as the above statement seems too specific. Anyway still getting mine from Play.com for £30 less, just would be nice to get some new information on this line, we still have not seen a final picture of the product yet just some unpainted/finished prototype pictures.

I also noticed there is now a page up for an Ecto1A from Ghostbusters 2 in 1:18 scale to come soon.

The Ecto-1a is the second legendary modified 1959 Cadillac used by the Ghostbusters in the 1989 movie “Ghostbusters II”. This car was an updated version of the Ecto-1 and was equipped with more accessories and technician equipment. On the vehicle’s roof, two electronic billboards were added, one on each side, broadcasting Ghostbusters advertisements! Their logo was also updated on this vehicle. Ready to live an incredible experience thanks to this car collection?!

whoa…proton pack rack and everything! MAkes me wish I hadn't gotten so lucky and got the Joyride/ERTL Ecto 1 at retail via a catalog. Oh well. Can't have everything.

Still wish they would have fixed the front lightbar brackets but other than that it's perfect. A definite improvement over the last.
