New Book From....TokyoPop?

A find by RavenEffect on GBFans:

I was searching on Amazon for any Ghostbusters related books a while back when I came across this:

http://www.amazon.com/Ghostbusters-Various/dp/1427814597/ref=pd_bbs_sr_3?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1210356461&sr=1-3

Does anybody have any idea what this is? It is supposedly a new book that is due out in October of this year. The page doesn't really have any information yet, though. It is listed as being by “various authors.” Maybe it has something to do with the comics from a few years back, because it seems to be in a comic book category, but it doesn't really give any information. Seems it is being published by some company called TokyoPop, which appears to be a Manga company.

Does anybody have any idea what this is?

TokyoPop is a manga translator, though they have worked with Disney in the past also. It's not impossible that this is a reprint of material prepared elsewhere, but what? Has anybody ever heard of a Japanese Ghostbusters comic? I'd think if there was it would have surfaced long before now in this Internet age, but that isn't conclusive.

I highly suspect this may be like the Star Trek manga that came out a year or two ago…

Star Wars manga was awesome. Adam Warren covers made it awesomer.

If Adam Warren ever did a GB comic, I would happily shart myself.

Ghostbusters Volume 1
Who ya gonna call? GHOSTBUSTERS, of course! Find out what happens between the Ghostbusters films and the video games as Peter, Ray, gon, Winston and the Ghostbusters team make their first manga appearance! The phrase “Everyone's a critic” takes on a whole new meaning when the crew is called in to help out a troubled Broadway production. Later, Ray learns that being a Ghostbuster isn't always the thrill-a-minute job he'd imagined it would be. And Egon has a touching interlude with a former instructor who still has a thing or two to learn about the afterlife. Then it all comes down to the ultimate showdown between our heroes and a team of peeved poltergeists. The Ghostbusters are about to be Ghost Busted!

and what is this?

I'm not sure what that last one is. To be honest, I don't even remember hearing about that series before…

But even though it says “Art Not Final” that's pretty spiffy.

There's a Ghostbusters picture by one of the artists on the book, Chrissy Delk, posted on her Deviantart page:

I'm not a big fan of Manga, although I have bought a few of them, but I definitely plan on getting this. I'm not sure if this is a one-shot deal or if there will be more following it, but hopefully it turns out good and lasts at least a bit longer than the comic did.

Ditto there. If its gonna be a series or a miniseries I'll gladly collect the whole thing and add it to my small collection of manga.
