I wonder, is that a seperate pack for trapping or is it an addon to the proton pack? Could concevably use a proton pack to power a trap for longer streaches, like say you have to go out in the boonies for a call. Hmm…I wonder…

for gbng i created some new equpiment along with revamped the old stuff, but new items contain such as portable ecto contaiment unit, ecto watch that alows communcation wtih chad (gbng comptuer and yes named after the chad of gbn) along wtih that the watches also opens the trap by remote (the traps are also hover traps. taht can be throwen out insted of rolling out), and ecto hover boards for chaseing a ghost around new york, info on them can be found at the gbng site just click my banner, (note pics of them are not up yet but the info is in the info section.) (and i know theres some incorect spelling, i havent got around to fixing that yet, damn spell checkers never work right, lol)

Here are two items I'll share from the GB3 script.

The first is a telescoping, pole-mounted trap. The original trap was designed to roll under ideal conditions. The EGB trap was designed to be thrown and land upright in places the original trap couldn't. But what do you do when you need to place the trap somewhere there is no floor (say, the ghost is floating 14 stories up, just outside a building). One ghostbuster has to wield this trap, not just trigger it, so they cannot shoot and trap at the same time. As well, a difficulty rating should be applied so the GB has to roll to see if they can hold it steady. A ghost die would suggest something like they drop it (not good).

The second item was the Ecto-50, a surplus box-truck (think of the old style truck UPS uses - similar thing) where the back area has been fitted with a temporary containment unit, which will periodically have to be emptied into a static containment unit at HQ. I wouldn't recommend Ghost Masters let their players have one of these. Rather, if you're in the GBI version of the game (where there are multiple franchises) I'd treat it like a special service the GBs can call. It'll be driven by an NPC crew, who can be late, or surly, or whatever. Not to mention that the unit can also fail or leak, providing action for the team. Providing the team with out just makes it too easy. Another option is to make the unit a duty that gets assigned to certain teams at certain times. A great story idea would find the team being assigned to Ecto-50 duty for the week and having them have to service other teams out in the field. Lots of good possibilities there.

hey castewar i was just readin ur pole mounted trap, but i see 1 lil prob, the idea of the proton gun is to hold the ghost in palce while they trap it, so if they can get a beam on the ghost they can rail him in and bring him lower. but never the less i like ur idea

a ghostbusting tank, you know, for the big ones; basically a re-vamped and slightly enlarged proton pack :d

I can't take credit for that one SG1, that's Dan Aykroyd's idea.

I see your point though. I don't know how much reeling in you can do with the proton packs - has it ever been outlined anywhere? I know in the RPG, it was a strength check - If you were a wimp, you couldn't move the ghost around much. If that's the case, it might be easier to just stick the extendable trap out.

Food for thought, at any rate.

When I think about new equipment, I think about practicallity. What kinda problems would a ghostbuster run into on a job.

PEP Bomb
(Positive-charged Ecto Plasma)

Heres a scenario, your chasing a dead jogger around a stadium. A running ghost in a large area can cause quite a bit of fatigue moving through walls can make it even more difficult. Not anymore! thanks to the PEP Bomb. Yet again you corner a ghost in a room, but he'll probably run again if he spots you. The PEP Bomb in a handgrenade format, has it's pin pulled while gripping the safty handle and is tossed into the center of the room. The timer ticks away to detonation. The bomb is a non combustable, instead it is highly pressurized canaster full of Smiley Slime (positively charged ecto plasmic residue) the fireing pin fires pressurized pins into the canister causing it to explode covering the walls ceiling and floor with the happy sluge. | The ghost will not only be irratated by the slug but find that attempting to pass through the walls is impossible. The PEP repels MOST ghost keeping it in a more contained area easier for capture. | :l( :1(
