My name is Christina and I am with the Orange County Regional History Center in Downtown Orlando, FL. We have a new exhibition that's about to open and I thought you all would be interested in hearing about it. It's called Out of this World: Extraordinary Costumes from Film and Television. The exhibition will feature costumes and props from some of the most popular sci-fi, fantasy and adventure movies and television shows of all time. For example, our Grand Opening Block Party will have food, games and entertainment including the Ecto-1. So come and check it out and tell your friends!

Out of this World: Extraordinary Costumes from Film and Television
February 6 – May 16, 2010
Discover new ways of seeing characters as defined by their costumes in this exhibition featuring more than 40 costumes and objects spanning 60 years from “Star Wars,” “Blade Runner,” “Terminator 2,” “Indiana Jones,” “Star Trek,” “Ghostbusters II,” “Batman,” and many more of the most popular films and television shows of all time. Out of this World examines how costume design incorporates color, style, scale, materials, historical traditions, and cultural cues to help performers and audiences engage, in new or accepted ways, with the characters being portrayed. The Orlando Ghostbusters, First Coast Ghostbusters, and Palm Coast Ghostbusters have been asked to attend this event. Palm Coast will have their Ecto 1B (which is the Ecto 1 alluded to in the prior post) and Orlando will be bringing their Ecto Truck as well as the Ecto 2. This is going to be from 10am-4pm on February 6, and is going to be a really good time…

OCHistoryCenter, you should probably not market as having “the Ecto-1” at this convention if you are planning on having fan-converted cars there. Those are still awesome, and a lot of hard work has been put into them, and people love to see them. But I know I'd be downright pissed off if I made my way to this convention only to find out that “the Ecto-1” is not “the” but “an”… that is to say, not the movie-used car, but a fan made replica.

I apologize for the confusion. I will make sure to make this more clear when promoting our Grand Opening Block Party. Thanks for replying!
