Thats a great photo comparison of Manhattan. I believe the location of the blast is the exact location of the actual firehouse in New York… which makes sense of course (just speculation). I visited that fire house a couple years ago which was very surreal!

This game looks amazing!

The trailer blew me away!

Too far north for it to be the Firehouse, especially if the latest issue of PSW is anything to go by, having an article on the game that says:

Ian Dean
An accident at the Museum of Natural History triggers an enormous necromantic shockwave throughout the city. Out Ghostbusters have to figure out what caused it and how to stop it.

It sounds like it's going to be a fictional Museum rather than the real American Museum of Natural History which is up by Central Park instead of somewhere between Fifth and Sixth Avenues.

I surprised at how much talk there is about the WTC on this thread. Its such a small point.

What do you guys think about the acting, dialogue, and models? I'm darn impressed.

-Mark

I think Skanker's team has done a fantastic job in recreating the principal actors that we've seen. I'm excited to see how they handled Janine.

The acting seems to be good, and that the motion-capture has worked really well… just check the subtle movements of Egon's head, so simple and understated… but gives us such a good idea of his character.

Ray and Peter, also good motion. Can't say much about Winston due to his limited movie-sequence appearance in the trailer.

Dialogue: Fantastic. I do see what people mean about Bill talking more softly, but I think that's only gonna apply to a small amount of his dialogue, and that we'll see his more familiar tone soon.

Wait…did anyone else notice this?

I know this is nitpicking, but..why is Egon's pack upgraded here with the slime tether/blower while Ray and Peter's aren't? Weird.

what you should be asking is , WHY ISN'T WINSTON IN THIS SHOT?!?!?

DAMN EVEN AFTER 25 YEARS , ZEDDEMOORE GETS SHAFTED LOL

good enough for the music video but not good enough for the cut scene

to quote the avgn - “What are they f*cking racists?”

hope theres a good reason for it. They can't say he wasn't on it in the beginning anymore LOL

I have a few questions about something.

Did the GB game story change a little? I remember in an interview they said that the mayor was up for re-election, but it seems like this mayor is new in this game and not the same one from the movies….am I wrong?

They mentioned that money is earned to buy upgrades. Does this mean we can go through the whole game without upgrading or is this is a forced thing? If this is a forced things, then what is the money system for? I don't want to assume something, but I wonder what the money system truly is for. It is just for the upgrades on the packs or is it used to upgrade other things.

I am just curious. Thinking about it a little bit more I don't quite understand the real system they have in the Ghostbusters game.

when Ryan spoke about it he said that the new mayor got in office running on a pro Ghostbusters platform.so definatley not the same mayor . also Brian Murphy is voicing the character , and he played the doctor at the psych ward.

as for the upgrades I imagine that the upgrade system is not for the weapons themselves
but to enhance the potency of them. like obviously you're going to need certain equipment to deal with certain enemies, but lets say for instance spending 10,000 dollars makes the boson dart more likeley to stun the ghost. maybe its something like that.

i was think the exact same thing. to progress the story you're gonna get the basic equipment, pack, slime tether, etc. but you can use the money you earn to make the stats of the equipment better. stronger, faster, etc.

The Mayor in GB:TVG is not the same guy as in the movies, he is a new character all together, his name is Jock Mulligan, maybe they couldn't get David Margulise to reprise his role as Lenny either! As for the money/upgrades, the whole point of upgrading is because, as in many games, different “tools” are used to defeat different enemies (like Vigo was defeated in GB 2 with the slime blower) so you probably can't get through the game without upgrading at some point.

Thanks for your help guys. I just wanted to make sure I was correct in what I was thinking.

I kind of wish the original Mayor from the movies was going up. Even if he is voice by a different actor, but maybe Terminal Reality wanted to keep it to the original as possible. Like if Rick Moranis, David Margulise, and Sigourney Weaver signed up for the game then maybe their characters Luis, Lenny, and Dana would have been in those roles. I guess like Skankerzero said, “We tried to get it as close to the original as possible.”

It just seems a little weird that the money systems would be for the upgrades on the packs. This is for these reasons

1. If you can pick and choose what equipment you wanted to spend your money on, then that means missions have to be open enough so that any number of combinations can be used.

2. If the equipment is forced and you had to have it to finish the game, then the money system seems superfluous if not useless. Not saying it is, but there must be some purpose to it other than “I get to upgrade my equipment.” Stat building perhaps? Like justinmarkus mentioned. Maybe that it is it

3. What happens if we don't gain enough money from a mission to buy these equipments? Will we be stuck or is it a guarantee that after say three levels our packs get upgraded or something along those lines. This is assuming of course that not all the money is collected in one level.

Perhaps, maybe, the slime blower/tether is given to us guaranteed after a few first levels , but then we have to buy the other 3. Like we can finish the game without the other three, but if we bought them it would make defeating some ghost easier plus we can pick and choose what we want. We could save up and get the more powerful one later or we get the cheaper ones first. It's just an idea.

I get it, but I would at least like a little bit more info on the money system. Just to help me understand a little bit more on it.

The reason why I am asking this is this weird oddity that I noticed. Sometimes the player/Rookie will have an equipment on a certain level and sometimes he doesn't despite it being the same level. I keep wondering if this is a game thing or was this just for the trailers.

The mayor would be different because as Jack Hardemeyer said at the beginning of GB2 “He's running for Governor next year.” So he was probably never even asked to return.

Mayor Jock Mulligan is being played by Brian Doyle-Murray, the same actor who played the lead psychologist in GB2. The question I have is, is Jock Mulligan the same person? If so, do we get an explanation about how a psychologist at Park View manages to get into politics and become mayor just 2 years later? If not, then why use Brian-Doyle Murray at all? Why not just get a new actor to play the role of the mayor?
