I know most of you will probly hate it but I photoshopped a picture of Poke'ball too look like a modern day ghosttrap.By the way I had made this pic months ago just havent put it up til now.

Its too bad it cant be used if there was a new toon(or movie) cause it would be an obvious rip-off but hey ya gotta admit…if Pokemon never exsisted the idea behind catching a ghost in a small portable ball, that you can throw(or point) anywhere as a opposed to needing too roll it out,is pretty cool. They would also be alot lighter to carry around for the Ghostbusters.

Eh….don't really like the idea. And the photoshop of the Pokeball just make it look like a CD.

Nah, I think a “portable ball” trap would actually kinda suck. I mean for one thing balls tend to drop (no pun intended) and roll off. You wouldn't want to be standing on sloped ground and drop it, lest you have to chase after it like a wild chicken. And ‘throwing’ it under a ghost wouldn't really work either, because it'd just keep on rolling, and even if it did stop, what are the chances of the “trap-door” end landing right-side-up? Unless it was weighted….

I think the XGB trap shared pretty much all of the advantages (and none of the disadvantages) that a ghost-ball-trap would have. You can easily throw it, or just hold it out in front of you. It didn't seem too heavy either. And the ‘frisbee’ shape gave it a low center of gravity, so it would surely land upward every time…

Your right about it rolling off…but I meant for it too work like in “Pokemon”,you throw it and it opens mid-air to catch the ghost…then lands…it would be impossible for it to land straight up like a traditional ghosttrap.

The Firsbee trap from ExtremeGB was pretty cool.

Peter Venkman:LOL! ya it does look like a CD…thats because the actual pic of the Poke'ball was flat…really its as u see it now,all I did was change the colors and add the yellow stripes

Actually, Wildcat's idea isn't too bad. I've always wondered how a handheld Ghost Trap might work in the field (i.e. one that doesn't have to be “thrown” onto the ground), and this might be it. HOWEVER, we do need to work out some kind of a hand-trigger–ideally, something a little bit like Batman's grapple-gun might serve our purposes.

A for effort.

D for practicality.
