Some shots have emerged of the Wii version, but as for the DS… why there haven't been any shots is anyone's guess.

Yeah, I know about those. But after that, there has been nothing new about the Wii version, other than a few mentions. But the X-box 360/PS3 version has had updates popping up like dandy lions. Not that it's bad, but I don't have those systems so if I'm finding out about all the good stuff these versions have to offer, I get a little envious lol.

Hopefully they'll have more info when the release date comes closer. Cause it's pretty ridiculous how they're not covering it.

I really wish they would show us some screens of the Wii or DS version.

Something we left out of Ghostheads was a little talk with Chad and Chris about the Wii and DS version of the game. I hope Chris doesn'tt mind me saying this but essentially, they want to get the PS3 and XBOX version the most attention with all the fancy graphics. This is too pull in all those guys who play games for lush characters and environments and whatnot.

Thats the downside to the Wii version not being as realistic, it can't WOW people with visuals, so it'll be closer to launch date before we see much of it.

I don't mean to be negative about this, but the best graphics doesn't really mean it's gonna be the best version of the game. It's a shame that they aren't talking about any of the other versions just because the graphics aren't as good.

The cartoony style Wii version bothers me a little, but what annoys me is that they can make the graphics realistic. Resident Evil and The Godfahter for example. It's not like the Wii is the old Nintendo Entertainment system.

It just upsets me though, cause I can't get these versions of the game (maybe PC, but I might have to buy a new video card for that) and I keep seeing updates on it, while nothing about the versions I can get myself.

Hopefully it'll be worth the wait in the end.

The thing to remember though, is that graphics do attract many people. And thats the reasoning behind this marketing.

Ghostheads, like us, will buy the game. Nostalgic 80's fans will buy it. Look at the Ecto tour schedule, it's a bunch of car shows known for attracting a 18-30 year old male group - this is who they are marketing to. These are the people they want to buy the game, because they are unsure if they will buy the game.

Castewar explains it better.

I get what you're saying. Either way I can't wait the game to come out.

Yeah.. I don't think Terminal Reality thought about it much. I mean comeon, the red fin stripe is totally wrong. Looks like someone slapped it on…. and I haven't even started with the roof rack. And oh what the hell.. do you call those side mirrors? None of the Ectos had that.

When 88 mph did the comic, they had to pay a huge fee to General Motors for the use of the Ecto-1 design as it's based off a 59 Caddy. It is possible that Sierra altered the car to avoid this fee like the producers of RGB and EGB did.

Well, for some odd reason the Ecto we see in the game is based on the one they used at the Universal Studios Florida attraction, Ghostbusters Spooktacular. The attraction isn't there anymore, but I don't the car they used to make the replica was a 59 caddy. At any rate, they're probably trying to avoid the license fee as JesusFreak said (which is damed expensive).

The USF replica had them, it's the basis for the Sierra Ecto-1.

It's not very likely, despite some ‘off model’ changes it's still obviously a 1959 Cadillac… all the familiar details and elements are there so Sierra is still going to have to pay for the rights to use the design. The RGB production also would've still paid it as despite the fact the car was stylised, all of the familiar elements were there and the car's make was unmistakable.

As for XGB, they might've gotten out of paying it with the significant changes they made to the front of the car, but without being able to talk to them I don't know if the changes did let them get out of paying GM money to use the 1959 Cadillac design.
