New TMNT on the way soon!

To answer your question, we get the “Review” magazine that lists all film companies and their scheduled releases, as well as the list of movies that are “waiting to be greenlighted.”

The reason we get the info before anyone else is because we have to BID to get the movies at our theatre. Each print of a movie costs in the upwards of $10,000 a pop!!! That means if I ruin a print of a movie through a “brainwrap burnout”, or the film getting eaten by the projector, that's $10.000 on MY head.

We also view the films before they hit the public. It only makes sense that theatre workers get this info ahead of time.

Gotta go, our theatre's showing GHOSTBUSTERS tonight, and I have to do promotions!!!

No wonder you know so much about upcoming films. Now if only you could use your influence on GB3…

Hey Vincent. I work at a movie theater as well. I work for a General Cinema (now converting to AMC). Where is your theater? How much did it cost to rent out the theater? How many does it seat? How much did it cost to rent the print of the film? I'm considering persuading my managers into considering it.

How many Cleveland (OH) area ghostheads would want that?

I work for GKC Theatres in Saginaw MI, so that would be Fashion Square cinemas.

It costs us @$7-10,000 to rent a movie print. We have 10 auditoriums that seat at least 200. theatres 3-7 seat over 300 apiece. To rent a theatre for yourself for one showing, our policy is that you pay for every seat. That's alot of money.

I'm ticked right now because we're not getting Episode II. For some reason, home office won't pay for the new SONY system and rebuild the auditorium with Stadium seating.

Any other questions you have?

Say Vince,

Do you get popcorn and goodies free? Perhaps any movie you wish to see free? Is it true that there is a little man inside every projector?? smile

I'm sorry, but I have bad news. There will be no GB3 or TMNT 4, those two movies are not shown to be in development, on imdb.com, but like all of you, I wan't to see them now! NOW! NOW! NOW!

The most that we get at our theaters is that we get to see movies for free (but there are a LOT of bad movies out, very few are worth my time), and you get some of the concession items either free or discounted, but you get sick of popcorn REALLY fast. Especially if your theater is like mine and you have to pop it yourself. And don't get me started on how filthy the majority of our customers are. So when you see a movie, be clean about it, throw your stuff away.

If I ever catch some of the people that trash movie theaters, they would wish that they would have been sucked into the tenth level of hell when I'm done with them.

OK…there WILL be a TMNT 4…it's just a matter of when. Don't believe anyone who says there won't be. For proof, go to www.ninjaturles.com (the official site) and click on “TMNT Letters” then on “fan forum” and then page down a bit for a statement on John Woo and TMNT 4. Don't listen to ANYONE that says there won't be a new movie…or a GB3 for that matter…no one on this board has the authority to state either way…that's up to Sony and the GB boys!

Okay, for one, theatres get the scoops on new films ALOT faster than websites do. The public thinks they can always get the info just because they have access to the web. Those theatre lists given to theatres override website info. As any theatre worker.

Here's what I know:
TMNT4: Greenlighted, no release date
GB3: Not even on the list of possible movies

Fat Albert: Yes, by God, it's going to be a movie!

“The cronicles of Riddick” (sequel to “Pitch Black”): awaiting green light

Meet the Fockers (“Meet the Parents'” sequel): awaiting greenlight

To answer an earlier question in this post….yes, we do get free concessions (when “perks” haven't been pulled by bad inventory counts, Yes, of course I see all the movies for free. We have to view them after they're built before we show them to the public (looking for bad splices and such)….and ….ah….yes, there is a little man inside the projector. They are called “gremlins”, and they like to break random things on the projectors, and make my life a living hell. wink

If you want to know about any possible movies, just give me a list, and I'll look for them.

Vincent Belmont, you have inspired me to become a theater worker; in my hometown, I have a reputation for judging movies, and to get info on upcoming films before anyone else seems like the cusiest job in the world. Plus I am a popcorn fiend.

P.S. At my hometown theater, we are getting Episode II, and because my mom's friend works in the theater, I could get to see the sneak preview before anyone else.
i'm out.
