A lot of people follow trends.
Gamers think by bashing the Wii, it makes them cool like the in-crowd.
To me, what makes a gamer cool in my books, is by embracing gaming, not the systems they play on.
I own a NES,SNES,Genesis,Saturn,PS1,N64,Dreamcast,PS2,Xbox,Gamecube, Gameboy Advance SP (four actually,) a DS Lite, PSP, 360, PS3, and Wii. I would say I embrace gaming because instead of looking at the systems, I look at what they offer.
If anyone here say the Wii is a kiddy system, they should really look at games like Madworld, where there is a cuss word a minute, and possibly the most violent game ever. Also people shouldn't forget the even raunchier, Grindhouse feeling, House of the Dead Overkill.
Now that is Nuff said…
Sure it might not have as many core gamer games at the moment, but neither did the Nintendo DS starting out. No it took the redesigned DS Lite before the 3rd party wagon got going, and now that system has the beefiest library of ALL the consoles this generation. I feel like I am back in the SNES days with that sucker. However, again, all systems are worth owning.
I tend to think people who bash systems, are just mad they cannot afford to own more than the one they had to choose. If someone handed the Wii basher here a free Wii, I bet he would take it, and buy games for it. If he comes and says he wouldn't, then you would know by definition what he is. A fanboy. Anyone who wouldn't support a free system is sleeping in the bed of their favorite corporation, and then in my eyes, they aren't even real gamers. They are bootleg gamers.
Just my opinion. Every system is worth owning for something.
To be on topic. I have the 360 version pre-ordered, but I may pick up the Wii version too (can't support GBTVG enough can we,) for the CO-OP with my son.
