From about the 4th to 7th grades I was OBSESSED with GB. I have an Ecto-1 model sitting on a shelf of model cars to the left of me as I type this! Always wanted to do a costume, and yes, I mean back in the 4th grade
I once started a proton pack using a box, bungee cords and a tin of Christmas cookies for the pack and a box of Pop Tarts and wood dowels for the gun part…….. never quite finished it.So fast forward more years than I care to remember. Im having lunch with my good friend and pastor (who recently joined the 501st himself), and he mentions that he wants to do a GB costume next. I tell him that I want to do it with him! I've met some GB costumers at conventions and that there is a huge costuming group for it. So here I am ready to soak up some knowledge and Im sure he wont be far behind!
I have a few questions too.
1. Being involved with other costume groups I know that it's not always cool to be mentioning prop makers when it comes to licensed characters, is that the case here as well? This will avoid the ever-annoying “where can I buy…” post.
2. Im pretty good at building props, where would be the best place to find a known parts list so I can get shopping
