Cons:
Ray's a beefcake? Boy's got some pythons on him!

Well, it's better than him being a Doughy Guy™ like RGB.

RGB ECU. In theory, it would make more sense to have a bigger ECU. But why couldn't it just be the input station and the wall like the first movie?

First off, there's the argument that, according to the version of the script(which claimed to be the final shooting script) i read, the first containment unit was half of the firehouse basement with a laser grid around it, and the wall with the input was added. the RGB containment unit contained a synthetic micro demension. the last time I checked, in terms of storage space, Micro-dimensions>half a firehouse basement. Plus, lookit all that detail, man! how could they make the old, wall-mounted ECU look that cool?

On another note, if the artists of the comic can make slimer look that evil, imagine what they could do with, say, Samhein, or The Grundel, or the guy from Ragnarok and Roll, or the Boogeyman?(and they should do something with these characters. they have no good reason not to.)

Dr. Riddle
I'm just saying, I'd much rather see nothing all, than to see disrespect and contradiction with what's come before. Contradiction is THE LAST thing I EVER want to see in the Ghostbusters Franchise. Period.
And you know what? They listened. I can't say the same thing about iBooks and whomever else is responsible for the new line of Novels. Shouldn't the fans get what the fans want?
i'm staying out of this whole argument… but i gotta say this. riddle, i too would hate to see contradictions to the source material in this comic. luckily, the 88mph crew only have one film to go on, not a 140 ep cartoon series, so i think we'll be okay… of course, i know you were talking about your heavy-RGB laced timeline…. personally, i'd much rather have new comics, novels, yadda, yadda, than a contradiction to… say… that chuck venkman guy or a flying japanese ectomobile. if GB3 would have been made, you would have seen a LOT of contradictions to things on your list….

…and although ibooks hasn't “posted” on this board, doesn't mean they aren't in contact with the fans… we are in very, VERY good hands in that area. however, the same thing as with the comic, not much, if anything, will be from RGB… consider this community EXTREMELY lucky that clavet posted on gbn many moons back, asking for the fans opinions. that's not exactly common place…

Now for my two cents:

Like Divia, the first thing I also saw was the little blurb that was written about how the whole Egon/Janine thing was gonna be approached. To me, I interpreted it as maybe they're just gonna be friends. And hey, there's nothing wrong with that. If the writers decide to take it further, fine. Just please, for the love of mike, DON'T SCREW WITH JANINE'S PERSONA AND MAKE HER ALL NUTZOID OVER EGON LIKE SHE WAS IN RGB!!!!! It made her look like a teeny-bopper, and not someone who was going on to her thirties.

Now, I've heard everything. You know this whole Ghostbusters Revival is happening when Egon's Babe consents to share Egon's love with Ms. Janine Melnitz. (^_^)

As I said earlier, it's okay ONLY if her movie persona is NOT screwed with. If it is, there will be hell to pay. j/k, j/k. :-) But my first preference is for their relationship to be simply platonic.

And D., yeah I guess you're right about that. Remember “Fatal Attraction?” :-) If Janine is written that way, Egon may get scared off.

Plus, lookit all that detail, man! how could they make the old, wall-mounted ECU look that cool?

I whole heartedly agree, as cool as the old unit was, it's been well documented that the old unit was getting crowded, and that was only during the first few weeks, granted, that the guys were busier then usual, but they knew unless something happened, to paraprase a certain JAWS character:

We're gonna need a bigger Containment Unit

I especially love how it's been achieved, Steve has taken the film and cartoon ECU's and sucessfully blended them together, in addition adding the red and green lights which I must admit, should've been on the RGB one. There's also a style about it which says it was designed by a genius, but built on a tight budget, I look forward to seeing more of it and other things.

I love how the Firehouse has been portrayed, it's excatly how I'd imagine it, and I've been there, it even has the red lights on either side of the engine doors (Which make sense if you think about it), and the detail down to the AC units on the windows is incredible.

The charater designs rock…and dare I say it, rock more then BDP's ones, not saying his weren't cool, his designs were super cool. I also like that Egon's glasses are round now, another small RGB influence?

I love the style that New York is presented in, it almost has a sorta Film Noir-ish quality to it, can't wait to see the finished skyline shots. I hope we'll be seeing Times Square and 550 Central park West.

I can't wait to see the Ecto-1, darn it, December may be two weeks away…but I can't wait! :@ If it's as good as the rest of the stuff I've seen…well…you'll have a comic of biblical proportions of coolness.

Is it just me, or do I detect a hint of slightly varying designs of the ‘packs on that cover art? If so, that’s cool.

Also, I know this would usually by in the Q&A topic, but will the renovation and reconstruction of the Firehouse be shown. And did those blueprints I made help out? :-)

Anyway, congrats Sebastien and crew, I think you're onto a winner. It's now up to us to make that sales target to justify a continued series.

Heh, I'd by all three varient issues if I can afford it…hoo boy, my bank account's gonna get drained. (^_^)

No offense to you, and don't take it as such, but I bolded the part were your argument went all retarded. This is six months after Gozer, and their tech isn't anywere near creating micro dimensions. I really doubt that Sebastien and Co (Sundays on Fox) are wanting to use the micro dimensions theory because that goes against the idea of the ghost prison that Aykroyd wanted. If anything a better way of explaining this massive boiler room looking structure is that the original ECU was a day spa prison, and the new version is a maximum security prison. Space was never an issue, if a large ghost could be dematerialized into a 1x2' box for temporary containment, who's to say that they can't just continually shove ghost after ghost into the system; squeezing them all together. Personally, I would've rather have seen an all new and unique design for this, but I understand their desire to please hardcore RGB fans.

I didn't really have time to read the whole article, but from te art they've shown, I'm more excited than ever. Slimer, the Firehouse, and the Containment Unit all look fabulous!

PS: Guess where I'm typing this from! I'm in the Net Access Center of the Enchantment of the Seas, moored in Key West. No joke. Of course this costs $ 0.50 a minute, so this will be my only post this week. I just had to see the new art that badly. :-)

Something about this coming from a person with the nickname EgonsBabe was pretty funny. But you do make a good point. Coy and subtle are the ways to explore the relationship between the two of them.
