Wow, what a shitty thing to wake up to. Nicholas Courtney, the man known by countless numbers of Doctor Who fans as The Brigadier, passed away last night at 81. Truly a sad, sad day, as The Doctor has lost one of his closest allies.

I was just watching some old 3rd Doc stories the other day and thinking how great he always was. He will be missed.

I just watched the Invasion the other night. I plan on watching Inferno tonight. He brought so much to that role, it is truly a shame we will never see him with one of the modern Doctors.

Either today, or more likely tomorrow I'll be rewatching The Five Doctors and Battlefield, two stories he appeared in that I have in my collection.

The news was like a slug to the gut, I'd had the pleasure of meeting him a few years ago, and he was an utter gentleman.

It's definitely a shame that he didn't get a chance to interact with Tennant, or Smith.

Wonderful chap. Rest in peace, Mr. Courtney.

Oh, no!

Please, tell me you're joking. Anything but that, especially right now.(;_

What I think is the bigger shame is that he was SO close to coming back and working with Tennant. What an amazing sight that would have been.
